The first step is identifying the alleged defendant. You would have to get his/her IP address from this site's owners, but they may not want to give it up without a court order. Doing so otherwise could expose them to legal action by the defendant. Then you would need the defendant's ISP to give you his/her physical address. This would also require a court order.

So before you can even file the police report you mention, you will likely have to go to court twice. Each time you would have to explain your reasoning for the request. How do you think a court will react to you telling them, "the 'Ghost of Igloi' was called names by this person"? If you think you can use your actual name instead of your handle, then you'll have to prove to the court that the defendant knows your actual name. How do you propose to do that?

It's a fool's errand. Any competent lawyer will tell you that.

I'm not disappointed at all. It's the Lord's Day, so I got up early for a moderate 10 miler at about the same pace as you ran yesterday. Then it was off to Church followed my a lunch stint serving at the soup kitchen. Then I came home and checked in here before beginning the afternoon family activities.

You definitely accomplished more tasks, but I think all would agree that I win the quality prize.

Congratulations on your race yesterday. There aren't many left that still feature a Clydesdale division.
