He actually did this. He has like 5 or 6 different brands of eggs and taste tested them. I cannot find the video, but I know it exists.
That's actually a really huge problem with his channel - going back to find older videos. And probably the fact that his older videos are useless/unwatchable by now.
He'll drop some interesting nugget in a video titled "And we carry on" which is a similar title to 500 of his other videos, and it makes it impossible to go back and search for older content.
This is why he should have a better separation of daily life/training/shoe review/race footage videos. I can't imagine anyone wanting to watch a random vlog from May 4, 2019 or whatever, whereas other YouTubers build up huge view counts over time on their older videos.
He has to keep pumping out new stuff to keep view counts up because so much of his stuff goes stale very quickly, whereas more "traditional" YouTubers have a solid earnings base from their older videos that keep getting watched, on top of the new stuff they put out. His "business model" is unsustainable.
Great point. I watch a couple of woodworkers on youtube and most of their content is even watchable 5-7 years later. Seth's content is not even watchable on the day when it gets released.
Remember: seek money, don't work at all and. Love. Your. Self. Keep turning that doorknob, one day she will have unlocked the door and will let you into her life again, or at least into her hallway!
He's gotta be running out of shoe videos. I know he was behind but I'm surprised he can keep this shtick up. Plus, why not show some recovery videos? Is he like not doing any cross training?
He made some videos shortly before his sacrum sfx, showing some running-focused strength training videos, but they garnered only about 5k of views each, and Seth complained about that.
There is a long term trend among general YouTube content creators. They start with some initial content that is entertaining/informative, and their views/subs go way up. Then they try to "hack" the system by seeing which kinds of videos made them successful. So then they only make those kinds of videos. Then their channel loses its magic - usually. Some keep up the quality, and find new and fresh ways to be interesting.
Look at h3h3productions. They got a huge a mount of popularity making comedic reaction videos to YouTube videos. Then they transitioned to making a podcast, because it maximizes revenue / time investment in making videos. Seth is doing the same thing. It's all about maximizing revenue/time investments as a content creator. Problem is, Seth thinks its the TYPE of video that made him popular, not his PERSONALITY and AUTHENTICITY which has become off-putting and disingenuous to LRC and others.
He's begging his FB followers for Shoe Battle ideas. He's going to turn it into a Shoe Battle channel.
DEE GEE ARR would love a Brooks Ghost 4 and Ghost 5 shoe battle.
He probably would be more willing to dig in the bottom of that shoe pile for an old version battle before actually interviewing someone or coming up with new content.
Rose Anvil cuts up old and notable boots and shoes to see what makes them tick.
Seth should grab an old Skechers GoRun or whatever, cut it up, and compare it to a new one he loves. V7 versus V8 is dumb, most everyone I know wears last year's model anyway.

The thing is, those videos got 5k views the first day, but they'll probably have 30-40k views in 3 years. His daily nonsense videos get 10k views on the first day, and they'll probably have 11-12k views in 3 years. So he needs to put out 3x as many videos to ultimately get the same views. Shoe review vids have a limited lifespan as well. He's squeezing out some quick profits now but there's basically no long game. There's a reason why some of the successful YouTubers put out 1-3 vids/week.
If sort his videos by "most popular" you'll see a shockingly low number of vids with more than 100k views. And about half the vids with more than 100k views are training videos, some are race videos, and some supershoe vids sprinkled in as well. No daily life videos. There's simply too.much.content to sift through if you're looking for his take on something specific.
He could literally make a video reviewing every single one of Hal Higdon's marathon plans, which would give him like 8 vids worth of content. And those reviews would continue generating money into perpetuity, since anyone searching for info on Hal Higdon plans, ever years later, will likely come across his video on the topic. That's the kind of foundation you need. Not videos of him moping around at 3am eating eggs. Keep the daily life to one video a week.
What Seth also does not understand that the Youtube algorithm is interested in "Watched minutes". It's not about how many people have subscribed or how many people made the mistake clicking on his unwatchable content.
with the failed recent 'sabbatical' attempt and the increasingly apparent exhaustion and stress of the last few months, I think it's clear this is not something Seth is actually enjoying.
This is what happened with Zack Levet also, it became increasingly clear that he was definitely not enjoying having to maintain a posting schedule and was just kind of going through the motions. Until he stopped. Which he had the luxury of doing because he didn't really have a lot to lose from that.
It appears that Seth has chained himself to this posting schedule because either a) he needs the $ to support his increasingly unwieldy family that shows no sign of stopping its own propagation, or b) he needs to maintain this hustle to make it appear as if he's supporting this rapidly multiplying brood. and then i'll throw in a c) for fun: he needs an excuse to leave the house and get away from the hoard for a few hours every day.

Remember that vlog he made of himself hiding from his screaming kids, off in his car eating a bowl of raisin bran? I think that was 2 kids ago. That seth was far more honest and relatable than new seth, who stares at a mountain of barely used shoes in his mansion, and wonders, "which one has a better gusseted tongue design?"
Seth James DeMoor @SethJamesDeMoor · 20m • one of the wildest adventures of my life, you might think it's..... - Nolans 14 - chasing an OTQ or - training for Pikes Peak..... nope its discerning my future on YouTube. hands down the wildest adventure of my life. period
If Seth ends a 4-5 year daily vlog after 2 months of LRC trolling, it will go down in LRC history as one of the most buttered doorknobs a bread-egg could ever turn! Keep sawing those shoes, and interrupting your wives, runners!

Seth is not ending anything. He needs the excuse to get out of the house. Soon you will see him sitting in coffee shops with his crutches and rambling about running stuff.

There are plenty of weak excuses to get out of the house that don't require running 100+ mpw.
Someone asked in the comments of today's video for a breakdown of the percentages for each revenue stream of Seth's income.
He claims:
- 50% YouTube
- 30% shoes
- 20% memberships
SocialBlade estimates that he makes anywhere from ~2k to ~35k per year from YouTube ad revenue. If that's half his earnings, he is making 70k a year maximum.
From SocialBlade: Last 30 days is 3.7k max, so 44.4k / year. For the last 1-year period it says 44.9k max. So that's about 90k/year max. I think it was higher a year or two ago.
Assuming he's incorporated, after taxes he's probably taking home most of it, so it's not fair to look at this as a "salary." All his race expenses and running purchases are going to be tax write-offs.
Even with the most optimistic interpretation of what he saying / the data, he's clearly still being disingenous about his finances or simply just doesn't understand them.
I'm guessing that he inherited a bunch of money which paid entirely for the new house and all the TV's / new furniture he got. No way did he get that off these supposed income sources.
How inspiring. Seth, if we are all one big family, why don't you send your fans some money too?
I know a YouTuber with comparable subscribers to Seth, has better views and engagement than Seth, but puts out fewer videos (twice weekly). This YouTuber makes about $60k per year from YouTube alone.
YT is fickle that your ad revenue will immediately start dropping if you aren't producing (I guess that's not fickle - that's just how it works). I get how that can be terrifying though.
I'm surprised SJD doesn't have a Patreon - that's another big cash cow.
why is he still on crutches??? is he still in pain....the majority of stress fractures quiet down w in 14 days if you modify your activities . Is he playing the sympathy card or getting subpar advice?
