This is one of the consequences of handing the controls over to people who have no idea or interest in how government functions. Trump's so-called budget proposal is missing virtually all of the elements that make a budget a budget. It does not include ANY figures for mandatory or entitlement spending (social security and medicare are for the birds anyway!). No immediate or long-term forecasts of of total spending, revenues, or deficits. No attempt to gauge how his hodgepodge of bad ideas actually adds up. Passing a budget is just about the most important duty government has, and the Trump administration has provided what amounts to a campaign press release.

Of course, now the real work shifts to Congress, where a substantial majority of House Republicans were elected in or after 2010 on promises that they would hamstring government and oppose any and all "Democrat" policies (i.e., anything remotely constructive). The majority of the majority party has just as little experience/interest in governing as Trumpy does. The only things these people how to do are hock loogies at liberals, sweep money towards their pay masters, and look for the next ideal location where they can send American soldiers to die. We are in for a fiscal nightmare orders of magnitude worse than the one W. wrought.

All of this leads to one simple question.

The Georgia lawmaker traded hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of shares in health-related companies, even as he voted on and sponsored legislation affecting the industry.

Preet Bharara was the man Trump initially made a big deal about remaining.

Things could be different this time around.

"Part of that net reduction in employment-based coverage would occur because fewer employees would take up the offer of such coverage in the absence of the individual mandate penalties," the CBO report says. "[O]ver time, fewer employers would offer health insurance to their workers."

Sen Feinstein said that she expects Trump to resign because he can't deal with emoluments clause.

Notworthy that Feinstein had a meeting with the FBI after which she came out graven and dead serious and refused to make any comments.

I could see trump doing what trump does - look after himself - and walk if he gets sick of the constitutional limits on his family business.

"I think sending sons to another country to make a financial deal for his company and then have that covered with government expense, I believe those government expenses should not be allowed," she said, alluding to a recent trip by Donald Trump Jr. and Eric Trump to Dubai, where they opened a new golf club.

this is all uncharted territory - we've never had someone literally incapable of fulfilling the office of the presidency. Combine that with Trump's attack dog principle of hitting back harder than you hit him, and lying to do it...and that makes it very hard for any republicans to go against trump.

I think the real guts of the GOP would like trump gone but they won't do anything about it unless he is caught doing something utterly indefensible and impeachable.

the only piece of leverage is pence's pardoning power. If trump is facing jail time or the like, trump would like to be pardoned. So that could help drumpf out the door.

Most Americans don't like the fact that Trump thinks his supporters are borderline retarded. Guess where Trump is this weekend? Playing golf in Florida! He's on pace to surpass Obama's travel expenses (which he criticized for years on twitter) by 10 fold! No. Believe it or not, they may not "like" him, but now acquiesce. He's got the mind of a child, but, he's the guy that talks into the camera while the heritage foundation produces all his policy. It's all you need. Trump is a good fascist, so I think he's got staying power.

Norquist and the rest of the jokers pushing the bailout really pretend insurance pools don't work at all like insurance pools work. And yet, so many people will just accept it. Acquiescence.

Once again, the Democrats still haven't got much game and mid-terms, with more seats at risk for Democrats than Republicans are right around the corner.
