Morrison another who knew them blues. He has a few things with John Lee Hooker.
You're too scared to visit the south and see where them blues started, but you're more interested in looking at them BBC's from the comfort of your garage.

Right over there 12 big books on them blues, out in my Fotress of Solitude over 6000 blues CD's/tapes/records.
I have that genre of music totally covered, like....100%.
Know far more about the music than you do.
You don't have to die at the Alamo to know about the battle, ok rookie?

You sure make a lot of excuses for being afraid to visit the south. You could hop on a plane and be there in half a day, but your supposed love of them blues is just a cover for your real love, them BBC's.

I simply don't need the south, I know all there is to know, all those old legends are long gone and don't need to spend the $$$$$$ that would take. Not going to find out anything new to me, so why bother?
Yes my parents felt things would be better out west, and back then the way things were they were right.
Seriously, for a guy who loves the blues, a trip to the south region of the US is not going to be too meaningful.
If he really wanted to bask in the blues, he might consider something like the Chicago Blues Festival. That sounds like a real big celebration of the blues and might make a little sense.

I did approach the music as if I were back in college, I got the books, got the music and educated myself.
I have it totally covered now and nothing is going to add to it.
The history of it a is my real interest, obviously all that is long gone.

Ok we are done, back to the music.
Adios~~~~
I forgot that you still have a mortgage on your house so finances must be too tight for you to be able to travel. Sorry to hear that.
Anyway, you don't know more about the blues than I do. Your books and CD's may contain a lot of facts and information, but you constantly make mistakes when conveying that info here.

He still has a mortgage at the age of 76 so I don't even know if he can afford to travel to Chicago.

The history isn't long gone. You can spend days traveling the Mississippi Blues Trail if history is your interest. Combine that with an active blues scene and you're doing yourself a real disservice acting like there's no reason to visit.

Origins.........firsts.......who started that who started this......prewar....what about that don't you get?
I don't care about some young guy who heard his dads old blues records and wants to give it a shot.
Who were the first guys to record them blues, well? Not talking about the ladies, they started in 1920, the guys came later, so who am I talking about and when.

You don't have a very high opinion of the blues if you think it's importance has already came and went. Maybe you're just a fan of facts and figures and the subject isn't really that important?

As you totally ignore my question.
Mamie Smith recorded "Crazy Blues" in 1920, this is considered to be the first blues on records. Soon after here came Ma Rainey. Bessie Smith, Ida Cox, Alberta Hunter a whole flock of females singing them blues.
So tell me who were the first male blues cat's to record, well?
Did you miss the part about having magazines that keep me current as does all the blues forums I visit.

I'm disappointed that you think the blues are dead. Why are you asking questions about a subject you obviously care nothing about outside of facts and figures?
