Quite simple.

I made a very long post about the military history of Soleimani, I recommend you read it. Everyone calling him a terrorist who made IEDs have actually no idea about middle Eastern politics and the US involvement.
USA backed and worked with Soleimani from the beginning, helping the side he supported put Ayatollah Khomeini take power.
He fought the Taliban, Al-Qaida, ISIL, ISIS, drug trafficking alongside the USA. Helped the US extensively in the Iraq war with intelligence and military strategy.
However he supported the Syrian government and helped them to crush the rebels trying to overthrow them, who were supported by the USA. Now he's a terrorist.
The propaganda about IEDs is based on mixed evidence at best.
https://archives.cjr.org/behind_the_news/get_the_facts_straight_on_iran.phpThe politics changed over the years and the US Government considered him a problem so branded a foreign Army as a terrorist group:
In April 2019, the U.S. made the decision to designate the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), a foreign military, as a foreign terrorist organization by the State Department under an immigration statute and their maximum pressure campaign. This designation was done over the opposition of the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) and the Department of Defense (DoD).
In 2018 Soleimani was branded a terrorist by Saudi Arabia for supporting the other side to them in the Yemeni region. The side the Saudis support is also supported by the USA, UK and Al-Qaida. Several Saudi airstrikes are understood to be war crimes and killed hundreds of civilians including children. They have helped expand the power of ISIL in the region.
But apparently that doesn't make the Saudis, USA or UK terrorists...
It's politics. Anyone who believes there is righteousness in politics is a fool. Soleimani was on a different side to the USA in the latest wars.
Stop. Just Stop. Had the US worked indirectly and coordinated /w third party groups with forces allied with Soleimani? Yes. Just b/c Soleimani fought Taliban and ISIS doesnt make him our friend. The Middle East is a hot mess.
Was Soleimani a "friend" to the US? No. In the 1980s Soleimani coordinated w Hezbollah under Mughniyeh, who had killed more Americans that any Islamo-terrorist leader before bin Laden. Since 1990s he helped arm proxies t/o Middle East, led to 100s of Americans being killed.
And BTW Soleimani worked /w bin Laden and AQ, OK'd the movement and safekeeping of key Al Qaeda leaders incl 2 of old school Egyptian AQ leaders behind 1998 US Embassy attacks in East Africa - Saif al Adel and Abu Muhammad al Masri. Those guys, others directed AQ attacks from Iran - like the Saudi Arabia hotel attack and supported al-Zarqawi, AQ during US-Iraq War
Soleimani deserved what he got. Make no mistake. Bad guy. That being said, Trump ordering this now was colossally reckless and by all indications it was ordered by a POTUS who doesn't think about consequences of his actions.
Iran wont respond itself, but could through its proxies. Hezbollah and Shia militia proxies of Iran are much more likely to respond by targeting Americans in Middle East, service members and contractors and even civilians. I would not want to be myself or have family, friends there now.
No, no. The US directly engaged with Soleimani throughout the years. You can read about meetings he had with the CIA and governments of the past and provided intelligence to help in the Iran-Iraq war. Everyone likes to forget facts that look distasteful years later. Like the CIA arming the Taliban.
You are completely forgetting that he was a military commander, whose job it was to protect Iran in a similar way General Joseph Martin is to the US. He acted in the interest of Iran only. That is at odds with the US allegiance with Saudi Arabia and Israel and here we are today.
War is war. There are sides. If you believe one side is all good and one is all bad you are a fool.

Right, without a thought. Iran has attacked and killed thousands of Americans since the fall of the Embassy in 1979.
Every time you see a legless or armless former combatant, it's almost 100% sure that the animal Soleimani was directly responsible for that attack.
Put down your weak sauce and put on your big boy pants. So many simpering LRC soy boys, traitorous cowards.
I read many bold posts from people sitting at home but with their chests ironically puffed out just like you. They were posts made before our attack on Iraq.
How did that work out for us?
Think about Trump and how he has reacted and made decisions in the past.
Does anyone trust Trump to make a measured well thought out decision regarding when to attack? He has shown NO capability to do this in the past. You can't trust him and his judgement.
Does anyone think this will really improve the situation?
Soleimani was bad, should we take out other bad presidents or generals?

Well isn't this the reason there was such a hurry to impeach Trump. Now that he has again demonstrated his instability maybe Pelosi will send the articles to the Senate and he can be removed.
Only the weak and simple-minded align with the "Trump did it, it must be bad" crowd. Same for the conflation of this attack with previous military actions. Iraq was invaded many, many years ago now and much has changed since then.
Iran, through the mad man Soleimani, had escalated direct attacks on Americans in weeks leading up to this targeted killing. The fact that Soleimani had the balls to be tooling around in Baghdad, openly and while making statements to international press, showed how bold Iran has become vis a vis Iraq.
If you let the Iranian dog into the house, it will immediately piss in the house. Let that happen and it will begin to destroy your home. The Shia mullahs know one thing as it pertains to the Americans, which is bare knuckle use of force.
Previous presidents should have killed this man and his proxy associates. He was truly the grand leader of a terrorist network and directly caused many American deaths and much misery in that part of the world in the last twenty years. He also had consolidated so much power inside Iran that he was a serious potential future President of the country. Good riddance to him and anyone who disagrees deserves to be sent immediately to the front lines in a coming war with the poisonous mullahs there.

Please tell me you see the hilarious irony here ?
“If you disagree with starting a war, you should be sent to war”
Solid trump supporting logic there. Bigly amounts of logic!!
Better do some pull ups and push ups today soy boy. You're heading for the front lines.

It’s only a few weeks since his sheep were supporting the getting out of “endless wars” in the Middle East sound bytes.
Just wanted to clarify that you're completely fine with Iranian backed militias storming the us embassy shouting "death to America". I also want to make sure that you are ok with the fact that the dead Iranian general “was actively developing plans to attack American diplomats and service members in Iraq and throughout the region".

Don’t want to speak for someone else, but I’m not fine with that or sucking up to the Saudi’s after their involvement in 9/11, but of course you and Trump ignore that.

While it’s an uncomfortable truth, Trump ran with the promise of bringing troops home, out of the Middle East and not sacrificing Americans lives in regional endless wars. Even though I don’t like Trump that was policy I could get behind.
He has just sent an additional 3,500 American troops. He broke a significant promise and is now just the same as Bush, Obama and so on.

Nobody was killed or injured in the US Embassy attack. It was a demonstrative action in retaliation for some bombing the US carried out which was retailiation for some attacks Iran carried out. It's tit for tat at best.
Actively planning my arse. Just like Iraq had weapons of mass destruction and Saddam Hussein was conspiring with Osama Bin Laden. LOL! CIA came out after and said both those statements by the US Gov were wrong but the Iraq war continued anyway.
Americans have short memories.
The USA has a history in meddling in other nations affairs including mine. It's nothing new and it will continue.

The Brojos should ask there dad about what is going on.
He was a toadie in the Bush administration and might have insight as to what a corrupt republican administration might do.
The US is effectively an empire and has been since at least WWII. If you are a Euro, YOU'RE WELCOME douche bags. You ought to be speaking German and living in the Reich if it weren't for American might. Ever since, American dominion has stabilized the world, like it or lump it. Any American complaining about the US being the World Police is outright stupid and would be living in a far lesser world if we didn't maintain empire. Your weakness and soft nature are some of the luxuries that could only exist within this empire.
The Persians are pathetic and could barely stalemate with Saddam over more than a decade of primitive war with their next door neighbor. The media and their collective shaking-in-boots that is going on now are embarrassing. Iran is nothing. Look at the vehicle badge on the grill of the truck being used by the mighty Persians to cart the ashes of their dead terrorist through the streets there. I've posted the link below, but you'll note that it's a Chevy! That says most of what we need to know about the might of the Persians:

Here, I'll make it easier for the Iranians to find some soft targets. I can't take credit though. I'll leave that to the Canadians.
