Looks like women were missing their top 2. That team depends on their low sticks, so you can't glean much from a result that doesn't have them in it.
Full strength NCC raced WashU men minus Matteucci. If you speculate that he gets 1st or 2nd in that race, it would've been really frickin' close. It's gonna be a fun year.

This is going to make for a great nationals this year (although we have plenty of time left in the season). Without a clear front runner to take the race away like we've had for the past 4 years, not only will the team race be a nail biter, but the individual race is anyone's for the taking this early in the season.

Why would joe frieburger or osmulski or whoever log into letsrun to anonymously declare they will win nats. XC is my favorite sport...but XC Fanboys/trolls are the worst. High metabolism + sad social lives=letsrun posts 24/7.
The race is totally wide open...if it comes down to a kick, my bet's on matteuchi or Watson. I think Mueller could blow it wide open though.

Tufts looked irrelevant last weekend. As did every other NESCAC school except for Williams. NESCAC is going to go home DEVASTATED in November
New England region as a whole looking fairly weak compared to how they have in the past. Only have 6 teams in the top 32 of the national poll, and WPI is hanging on by a thread in 31st. Paul Short could make a big difference for a lot of teams looking for an at-large bid come November.

It's a recruiting thing - we pooled some funds together and paid off USTFCCCA. Better exposure.

Better yet, abolish the south region entirely
just got word that the north central cross country team is suspended from all future competitions and will have their national titles revoked due to an age cheating scandal. i always knew something was fishy with that program, good to see justice finally being done to a cheating school. good riddance.
New England region is too weak this year to get 4 at large bids, probably no more than 3 for them and mideast will get 2.
