top Canadian coach calls out drug cheats beating his athletes

Change the the criteria. National champions - X, road, track, field - and, or national record holders deserve funding. Could give the entire annual funding allocation to the number one club/university in Ontario. They are clearly doing many things right to get to that level of performance. Good place to start if you want to support the best athletes.

Anyone notice Molly Huddle pulled a Dulhanty at the NYC Half this past weekend? Looks like Speed River is inspiring americans to follow their methods.

Not gonna happen. Speed River is on lock down, not going to post about this anymore.

Sounds like Speed River probably bent the rules here but they're all fighting over peanuts and sound like delusional millennialist thinking the government should give them a handout.

Canadians are soft. Most Canadians won't say boo about this kind of crap unless it directly affects their own athletes. Let Speed River get away with this stuff for years, it's your own fault Canada.

I heard the Athletics Ontario committee changed their minds and decided to actually follow the criteria, so Speed River appealed their decision. This is obviously just a rumour and obviously conflicts with Jeremy Rae, who stated that his club just runs as fast as they can and hopes for the best, I don't remember him saying anything about appealing.

It also not uncommon to come on this web site a lie to defend yourself.

Can anyone confirm this rumour? If so this would be very interesting as it appears cheat river had Athletics Ontario in their back pocket

I don't think Cheat River had AO in their back pocket. I think it's possible some of the quest for gold committee thought that bending the criteria to get Cheat River athletes carding was just helping out good athletes. But then the appeals process came around and athletes from other clubs, fighting for carding money they felt they deserved, asked how Cheat River athletes that scored less points than them were being nominated for carding over them. I can only hope at that point the committee members realized cheating to help the Cheat River athletes was wrong.

But that could all be incorrect and maybe Cheat River did have AO in their back pocket, helping the Cheat River athletes to cheat others out of carding money.

My buddy didn't get carded because he applied a few days late, but he scores higher than the Cheat River athletes that got special ministry cards because they are so special. My buddy isn't special. But he's not a cheater.

Well it is either that, or that SR actually hasn't done all the awful things they are accused of.

I would love to see all the internet trolls actually do something to back up their claims.

If AO or SR is doing something wrong, bring a lawsuit against them. Oust the AO board. Appeal to the COA and get AO unaccredited.

Until you trolls actually "prove" something fraudulent is going on, it is all just hot air.

I know there have been a few successful appeals on a few things, but that is just the appeal process doing what it should, not evidence of fraud and corruption.

What would you like to see as proof for fraud? Give us a few specific examples, so we can satisfy your request.

If a few appeals were successful, why doesn't AO release the reasons criteria were not followed on those athletes applying? I understand raw data was supplied to specific people as requested , but AO does not want to make this public. Why?

In fact a new association is forming now.

Ontario Athletics.

This will not be the first time a provincial association got the boot for a new one.

It isn't the internet you need to satisfy, you need to satisfy the courts, or appropriate arbitration bodies. But for some reason no one seems to be getting there - despite all the hullabaloo on the net. Makes me wonder just how solid these claims are.
