I didn't know what was going on until I saw the interview just now. The guy was pumped up and that tip sent them to the Superbowl. Crabtree was talking trash all season. It's good to see someone walking the walk and getting it done.
... and now we can look forward to the 72 hour Superbowl pregame show, where they say the same boring stuff over and over again.
Wouldn't the ultimate redemption to be to act, as Paul Brown once said, that you've been there before and success is normal?
If Sherman broke up the play ending the game and ran casually off the field it would send the message that it was just an average play for him and he was above acting like he just saved the world from nuclear attack. It sends a message of we won because we are better and expected to do so and don't need bizarre attention-getting behavior.
It saddens me how EPSN, Fox Sports, and all the other sports networks continue to glorify this behavior by giving it endless airtime. At 32, I have a hard time calling myself "old school", but I really wish players would just play hard, shut up, and act with class.
I don't know what he does off the field, but Dick Sherman has, on more than one occasion, shown himself to be classless as a professional. The post game press conference interview, after time to cool off, showed just how classless he really is. And if you haven't seen the interview with Skip Bayless referenced earlier and need more evidence on how much of a tool Sherman is, check it out.

Can't speak for the other poster, but how do you know Sherman is a far better person? Many people devote their lives to helping others on a full-time basis, work in jobs that contribute considerable more to advancing society than playing football, and give money to worthwhile causes. So what? None of that has anything to do with the fact that Sherman is an insecure, classless man who fails to exhibit respect for his opponent or journalists.
Larry Bird trash talked every bit as much as Sherman but bc Bird was soft spoken when a microphone was present he was a fan favorite (outside of LA and a few other NBA towns). Oh that and also he was white and America is still very racist.
Also like others have said this all goes back to Crabtree wanting to fight Sherman at a charity event. A charity event! And Crabtree is the victim?

Skip Bayless is a total a$$, who never played any sport at any level beyond middle school. He just writes and talks about sports and most of the time he has no idea what he is talking about. The complete a$$hole (Skip Bayless) lost all credibility back in 1999 when working for the Chicago Tribune, wrote on July 4th that then Northwestern Univ. Everyone keeps referencing that he graduated from Stanford so that makes him more intelligent than everyone else. Most athletes, especially football players don't go through the normal tough acceptance processes, and he got a degree in communications, one of the easiest degrees. He got a good education, but he's not some Albert Einstein.

Yes, he finished second in his high school class, but it was in one of the worst school districts in the nation.
Yes, he graduated from Stanford, but he was admitted as a football player and a communications major is notoriously easier than most of the others.
The bottom line: he is certainly no idiot, but the people who are defending him with by claiming that "he is smarter than you" are giving him far too much credit.
