Maybe, but not all of Hadsel's which the administration might have asked for. Also, did Deadspin publish everything or leave some pieces out (I do not know/remember).

First of all, Emma was dating the Hansons athlete the original time she looked to Hansons. Second of all, you think that by dating an athlete for one month, you are somehow them entrusted to join a team? What the hell does that even have to do with joining a team? You think that is how it works? You are an idiot.

Clearly the people posting on here do not know Emma or Drew very well, as they have had a relationship previously. They originally were dating way before Kertesz was even good enough to be considered for Hansons. Leave them alone, this is all BS to tear down a woman. And no offense to Drew- I'm sure he doesn't hold enough clout to get his girlfriend a spot on a highly respected distance team.

I thought that the Hansons doesn't allow dating in the program. Oh wait, that is just a bunch of BS that I picked up on letsrun.

There is a whole bunch of things that don't make sense if this is where you are getting your facts.

I'm not sure why they wouldn't. This ex-coach did the very same thing several years ago and the school did absolutely nothing. That is a total lack of a moral compass on behalf of the university. The school and ex-coach are getting what they reaped and the athletes left behind in the program are the ones remaining to pick up the pieces. The ex-coach and universtiy have shown they truly don't give a damn about those still there, and that's a shame.

A couple of things are disturbing about this story and these threads.

1. Most colleges have a clear rule that faculty/coaches cannot date students/athletes.

2. Over the "line"? How about, "violated university rules/policy?"

Yes, it happens that students get attracted to faculty. Faculty have to take the high road. Let's face it, a male coaching a female team, has a new "supply" coming in every year.

It doesn't sound like one of those cases where a male coach meets a student, who, after graduation becomes his wife, wink, wink.

This sounds more like "Wild Things."

What coach texts a woman he coaches at a university about f_cking another woman he is coaching?

The guy deserved to be fired; he did not deserve the opportunity to resign...with whatever benefits he may have received.

Get real, these women are not women of the world, ten years out of college with the life experience and education to make the kind of choices a healthy women...ten years out of college would make.

They sound like girl. Both the "in" group and the "out" group.

Because they are not fully socially developed and experienced women -- that is exactly why universities have rules against coaches bedding athletes.

Emma Kertez and everyone else in this program (the Men's XCTeam too) are victims to what Kevin Hadsell did over this 10+ years that he was in charge of ALL the teams (Hadsell was not the T&F Head Coach when he first arrived, just HC of XC). It was known by everyone (except the Toledo athletic director) that a Toledo runner under Hadsell that he hired as his assistant coach (even by Hadsell's own admission in the texts) was his girlfriend and lived with him. When Hadsell hired another ex runner of his to an assistant coaching position it is known that she would only be hired on a professional level as a coach, not a friends with benefits. I wonder what she saw and heard that Hadsell was doing during her coaching years at UT? Kertez tried to leave the program quietly after the Fall Semester, but that Hadsell wanted her to stay for outdoor track so it is alleged that he was putting out negative info about her to the pro running teams. So he got what he wanted, she came back for her Redshirted Track season that she had left of her NCAA eligibility. Hadsell thinks that his down fall was that he let the student athletes get to close to him. He still doesn't get it! He was and still is the problem. The Athletic Director is a real problem too, in that he has stated that no one on the team needs any counciling!! WHAT? These student athletes should all have had sessions set up and PAID for them by UT. The UT AD is looking at his $$ budget $$ ONLY. It was also stated by the UT AD that when UT Human Resources presented the texting evidence to Hadsell that he resigned. The UT AD stated that he was prepared to FIRE Hadsell. Why did the AD have the Men's & Women's Teams brought into a meeting and have Hadsell resign, now girls are crying and all upset that he is quitting. I guess this AD was ok with Hadsell having one more hug fest with his girls. The Men's Team is glad that he is gone. He treated them like shit, and diidn't like to train them. So the assistant coach work with them. Through Hadsell's own posting a few years ago that he was hired by UT because he was a good women's coach.

Glad that he is gone, would somone please buy his house so that he will leave Toledo.

Another good point. If Hadsell hadn't interfered with Kertesz attempting to leave the program after the fall semester (by contacting at least one elite coach with a negative portrayal of Kertesz, which is true), it's possible that none of this would have gone down. So where does that fit into Kertesz' alleged evil, scheming motives?

Briana (Shook) Hess ran for Hadsell at Toledo and became his Assistant Coach. She is now the Head Coach at Heidelberg University in her hometown of Tiffin, Ohio. Maybe she will hire Kevin Hadsell?!

Emma Kertez roommate in all this works at the Univ. of Toledo, but not in coaching. Anyone wonder what other women on the Toledo team were being used by Hadsell. Do ya think that they should ALL be given some Professional help?

You only can run 7 to 9 runners in College Varsity races. Wonder why Hadsell had almost thirty (30) on his Women's XC Team Roster?

Why would Hansons or Simmons throw themselves in the middle of this? Why? Do you expect Kevin Hanson or Scott Simmons to post on this thread? That would be so professional. Hansons is clearly endorsing her, as she is on the team, and joined the team when everyone in the know was aware that a scandal was coming. A better question than "Why did she leave?" is "Why would she stay?", given that all of this is happening.

If a runner has got their degree but still has eligibility

and chooses to go pro, that is their decision and one that makes sense to most sane people. If you feel the program you are in is a mess, why would you want to be apart of that situation when you can go somewhere else and move on with your life. Sure, you can still have positive feelings for your college teammates but when it is time to move on, it is time to move on.

Kertez did not have 2 seasons left at UT.

She was injured in her Freshman Year, and was redshirted for indoor track and outdoor track her Freshman year. She was never redshirted for Cross Country. Kertez graduated her Senior Year, 2012. Seems like she had enough, and wanted out.

Karma will fall into play. Be ready.

So in the Fall of 2012 she had no Cross Country eligibility left.

She had eligibility left for the 2012-2013 Indoor Track Season

She had eligibility left for the 2013 Outdoor Track Season.

If that's what you meant by 2 seasons?

So she quit in December. But trained with the team in the fall? Traveled to meets, received training from Hadsell (more then training obviously)? .... hmmmmmmm
