Nine pages, NINE pages, and NO video? This is the effing OTs. Someone post a video so the rest of us can know what all this childish (sorry guys) bickering is about.

How is it childish? Running to win a race, albeit a prelim, is childish? Please give a reason as to why it is childish. Rupp made a move, Bumbi followed, Bumbi outkicked, leaned and won. He turned around for a customary handshake and Rupp blew him off. Rupp's move was childish. Regardless of whether he was angry, happy, or just trying to get off the track, he could, without any noticeably additional energy, shake Bumbi's hand and be on his merry way before the other runners crossed the line, so as to not get held up in his post-race workout or cool down. The notion that Bumbi should be subservient to Rupp just because he is an American Record holder is absurd. Does Rupp act submissive when running against Bekele, Farah, and other faster East Africans? No, and nor should he, just like Bumbi should not do so when running against Rupp. Should he be a sportsman after the race is over? An unequivocal yes.

God forbid Bumba should have a little fun out there. Who cares if someone wants to eff around a bit in the prelims. It doesn't do any harm.

I wouldn't mind seeing the video either. I'm doing all my childish bickering from memory

agreed, i don't blame Rupp either, Bumba was quick to push the hand out there, as to say something meaningless.....if this was the final, I garenteed Galen would of shaked hands with Bumba. This situation is so different.

Also, disregarding a proffered hand and (according to you guys) not only ignoring every other runner but actually bumping one, is unquestionably unsportsmanlike. Sure, it's a pre-lim. You still acknowledge competitors. For some of those guys, the final was a pipe dream and their season is over. For one, a former teammate, his illustrious but hardware less career might be over. Anyways, who really cares, but, since you do, it seems clear that Rupps behavior was douchey.

As for Bumbalough, racing a prelim hard might have been stupid, but competing hard in a race is never douchey. Not sure what was up with his last two races, but I think he has a better shot at third than others might think.

Lastly, go Lopez!

How is a time in the high 13s racing hard for either of these guys? They can both go much faster than that.

Wow...hope the final generates the amount "talk" as the incident in the trials. I was able to watch the race last night at a friends and was shocked on how much of a non-issue the whole thing was. Yep- Bumbi ran through the finish line and beat Rupp. It did not appear to me that he threw down a big sprint or power lean at the finish. It did look like Rupp was extremely upset that he lost his heat - not sure if he actually saw Bumbi try and shake his hand or not. Interesting that there isn't anyone complaining about the little college girl from Dartmoth "outkicking" our national record holder in the one of the races prior. Anyway - my take was that Bumbi looked as good as anyone in the guys 5k - should be a great final!

Exactly! It's the ****ing Olympic Trials. If you haven't already arranged to either watch them live or record them, you probably aren't a very big fan of the sport and your opinion on this matter won't be missed.

There are probably several who recorded this race. Is it too much to ask to upload it to youtube or other social media? Some people don't have TV's (yes, hard to believe but true). Instead of ridiculing, how about helping your fellow LRC brothers out and post the damn thing? Thank you.

Yep, no one wants to upload the race video. It's joke that LRC, the number website for the sport does not have a video of this race. Inexcusable.

Bumbi and Rupp didn't quite hug.
