For sure Bolt is a freak of nature, great talent, hyper-responder and mega hard worker over long periods of time. Suspicions and discussion is certainly called for. But, if there were no PEDs, would Bolt still probably be the best of the best? I have no idea about the answer to that question.

People here seem to think Bolt came out of nowhere and therefore must have been doping. Just to respond to that, here is a video of him becoming Junior World Champion at the age of 15. He remains the youngest junior world champion ever on the track.

Bolt ran 20.13 that season (at the age of 16). As a HS junior, Bolt was running faster times than the NCAA national champion, who had already tested positive for amphetamine abuse.
Bolt's performances in 2008 might have shocked some folks, but for those of us outside of the US that follow the sport in some detail, this was not a huge surprise. Bolt smashing world records in 2008 was about as remarkable as him winning a junior world title at the age of 15.
Now, i can never be 100% certain that Bolt hasn't used PEDs, but nobody can claim that he appeared out of nowhere. The same cannot be said for many other sprinters that have since been popped for PEDs.

I believe it is a very good chance Bolt is doping. As a former member for several years of the US Track Team, 31 years ago,
I have good reason to believe that doping started initially with athletes outside the U.S. I am not including Jamaica because they were not the first. The fact is nearly all if not all record breaking athletes and those who are there close competitors are doping. Since that has been documented then why single out those who break records and become great. They are all competing on level ground. They all use steroids. To isolate Bolt, Green, Gatlin and the other aforementioned athletes you would have to go back and revoke medals, records etc from all the German's, Russians etc because they mastered steroids first. They drew first blood. Now that American and Jamaica Sprinters are using enhancement drugs it is horrible thing. This has turned into a game of who has the best chemist.

I train with a few sprinters from the caribbean and they all complain Jamaica does not play on a level playing field and these guys I train with are on steroids lol. This particular guy could not even break 11 seconds training naturally so it shows you what the power of drugs+heavy lifting and a good responder can do so with bolts natural talent 10.3/19.9 capability he is very dangerous as you have seen. Alot of these guys trained with Bolt in his early years and used to make fun of him when they came back to the states because he ran 10.3 in practice and that was good for him this was back in 2006 and they couldnt believe he could even run that. Someone in here mentioned that Bolt plateaued and that is true he was a 10.2/10.3 100m guy and 19.9-20.2 runner and nothing more. I am not sure what they did or put him on but it made him cycle his legs three times as fast as they normally could if you watch old videos compared to new you will see the difference where he runs fast but like a tall guy should then 2008 and up hes cycling his legs like a 5'9 sprinter.

Every single 200m time under 20"40 done after 1968 auto-timed (20"09 cannot be a hand timed, since HT time are rounded) have been thoroughly recorded and put in a database. No jamaican has a current PB of 20"09, No one of them ever broke his 200m PB by running 20"09.
The only jamaican to run this very precise time in the last 45 years is Nickel Ashmeade. But he cannot the one your speaking about because:
- he was already a sub 20s sprinter when he ran this very precise time in 2012
- he was already a 20"7 sprinter at 17 as a HS sophomore.
-he was ranked in the top 10 world junior list for 3 straight years (2007-2008-2009 )
-He has no recorded time of 22"65 ( all his FAT time since the age of 16 are recorded by the IAAF, check out) . No guy in the list has

You have skipped past 2008. Bolt first broke the WR at a track meet in NYC in 2008 less that one year after his run in Osaka at worlds. From never having run the 100M, he ran 9.69 taking Tyson Gay apart on his way to the world record.
I saw him run in Osaka and I saw him run in NYC. I said at that time that he was either doped to the gills or has made an evolutionary leap in less than a year.
My opinion of his performances have not changed. Such exponential improvements in times have only ever been documented by the likes of Flo-Jo Marita Koch and Kratchkolova.
