meb also 1:03:33 at the half.

Leaders 73:35 at 25k, just 5 seconds ahead of Geb's WR 25k split
I'll take Mara to win.
Mikitenko broke away like Olympics. Has a grimmace on face but otherwise appears to be running well.
Got a kick outa the male commentator saying the women's race was "formidable" with regards to both competitiveness and time: two women were leading in 2:22 pace? Nothing formidable about that.

Not quite like the Olympics, but I'm sure someone else will correct you.

And even if he has not improved much, Tadesse will have been dropped way before 35km.
I will have a beer on that Tadesse will certainly be there after 35k ;-)
yeah ... the women's champ will finish at fastest 2:23 I think ... 8 minutes off record .. that would be 2:12 for men
Ritz 75:27 at 25k, 2:07 low pace
Meb could win this.

But progressively slowing, here's hoping he can hang on!

You might be right...12 sec gap now...still, plenty of time to claw back sie German.
Men are now falling slower than WR pace. At this pace, they'll finish in 2:07 something, which will be quite disappointing.
But it should be a great race, if only they'd show it instead of the women's bore-fest

I'll bet against that one, too.
I'm making easy money here today!

I have both streams open, with sound going on this one. It's about 30 seconds ahead, but it's pretty much the same coverage as far as men/women/wheelchair.
maybe one of the pacers will win - the three look pretty fresh
