Mikitenko broke away like Olympics. Has a grimmace on face but otherwise appears to be running well.

Got a kick outa the male commentator saying the women's race was "formidable" with regards to both competitiveness and time: two women were leading in 2:22 pace? Nothing formidable about that.

yeah ... the women's champ will finish at fastest 2:23 I think ... 8 minutes off record .. that would be 2:12 for men

You might be right...12 sec gap now...still, plenty of time to claw back sie German.

Men are now falling slower than WR pace. At this pace, they'll finish in 2:07 something, which will be quite disappointing.

But it should be a great race, if only they'd show it instead of the women's bore-fest

I have both streams open, with sound going on this one. It's about 30 seconds ahead, but it's pretty much the same coverage as far as men/women/wheelchair.

maybe one of the pacers will win - the three look pretty fresh
