Is Tegenkamp Blood Doping?

I remember reading and article in the Boulder Daily Camera when Kara Goucher was a senior at UC (just before or after she won the NCAA XC). In the article, there was a reference to a procedure she underwent to overcome iron deficiency (if I recall correctly). The essence of the procedure sounds a lot like this platelet therapy. I remember thinking to myself (with my non-scientific brain), "That sounds a lot like blood doping."

It seemed too coincidental that she had this blood therapy and then kicked some ass.

Can anybody come up with that article?

I hate to burst everyone's perception that there are actually clean world class athletes. Everyone one of them uses some aid outside of training. Ask yourself this: You are making a living running at the world level doing something you love. Would you take some risks in order to maintain that? Same in the business world. You have a good job and sometimes maintaining it and climbing the ladder necessitates some level of deviance from a pure ethical norm. Your level of success depends on the level of risks you take and sometimes the risks are not exactly legal or moral. Thats life.

Seriously, Teg, Solinsky, Rupp, etc. etc. etc. they are all blood doping cheaters. It's the only way they can keep up with the East African blood doping cheaters. I'll bet the Clean 10k Record is barely under 28 mins.
