He is young and fast and wealthy. People here don't like that combination.
You could use those words to describe Leo Young, Stanford, but Young is super popular, including a large YouTube following. I don't get your logic ....
I've seen videos of him (Leo Young) on YouTube driving a very expensive car at Stanford and isn't the Young family from Newbury Park where average house prices are more than 1 million dollars? That sounds pretty comfortable to me. I'm guessing the Young family parents are professionals, probably making $200k + per year. Comfortable, at least.
If my assumptions are wrong I stand corrected with apologies.
From : Clevenger said he’s on a mission this season to rewrite the DIII record books and, in a sense, his reputation. In October, several members of the Iowa State cross country team were suspended for violating team rules. However, no specifics about the violations were given, and the names of the suspended athletes were never released. Clevenger didn’t specifically mention the suspensions in his post-race interview, but he cited a general lack of respect from the surrounding community as his reason for transferring. “Some people said some things about me,” Clevenger said. “They weren’t true… I just didn’t feel respected at my previous institution. I decided to come here where people actually respect me and treat me as an equal.” Clevenger said his next stop will likely be a Boston University meet, where he’ll target Alex Phillip’s indoor DIII 5,000 record of 13:44.98 and, in his words, “probably smash it.”
'm also thinking that if he had really doped egregiously - he would not be running right now or am I missing something? No way(in my mind) will any U.S. institution allow an NCAA athlete to compete and face serious accusations of breaking NCAA rules (i e. doping).
Got suspended before he could get tested just like anyone else. It’s like (allegedly) Silva all over again, left before anything could actually be done.
I found out before the news broke from dudes who knew him. Possessing/being involved with the substance is just as bad as using it imo.
as someone mentioned in this thread or another one, it would be as easy as him just saying someone about what actually happened on socials, it’s not like he has anything to lose now
This will blow up like the Lia Thomas stuff if he takes down any records or wins nationals. His plan of "smashing" Alex Phillips record would legitimately upset a lot of people.
Whether guilty or not, the truth is that majority of people will disagree with any success he has. The better he does, the louder people will get. Even more people will hear about it and the majority will grow even more unfavorably. He can't simply just put his head down and hope people forget.
The only thing that can save him is a clearing statement from the Iowa state coach (unlikely). Sudbury should be aware of this so if he continues to not clear Seth's name it'll be very telling.
I have no idea what you are talking about. Athletes get suspended frequently for breaking team rules. If the athletes transfer, the losing coach would never mention the former players' names again. What world do you guys live in? This isn't your 5th grade YMCA team.

Incredibly unfortunate if he is innocent.
I believe Seth didn't cross the line with prohibited substances but may have been borderline with different stuff, still within legal limits.
Coach Sudbury at Iowa Stats is a good dude and wouldn't in all probability have cleared Seth to run at Rowan if he (Seth) had done something really egregious.
The level of hate against this dude is ridiculous, imho, especially as no one except a select few, know which infraction Seth (and a few others) committed.
Sad times. So much negativity.. unreal ..
Move on - let the dude (Clevenger) run and get on with his life.
Rowan schedule:
2026 Men's Outdoor Track & Field Schedule - Rowan University Athletics
Thus place is dominated by former D3 try hards who are jealous of everyone and everything. They work at running stores still running 90 MPW in order to run 29:59. They think if they train harder, they will be a 2:09 marathoner. They hate guys like Seth who is smart and fast and wealthy.

You do realize the top guys in d3 (who are smart and probably have that D3 rich boy money) are also subtly speaking out against the idea of him being in D3 right? Now unless Clevenger actually comes out and says something and not through his posse of teammates then this will be its own thing for the rest of the year.
