I don't think top-3, but I could see her finishing in 4th today. There was a big gap between 3rd and 4th.

Summer Wilson took it out super hard and paid the price. Obviously it wasn't the result that she wanted but fair play to her for going for it. All in all she had a great XC season.

She's used to dominating her XC races so just ran like she always does in the beginning. Found out today she can't do that in the national stage.

Ritzenhein was cooked. NIL deal and Ritz name couldn't give her the extra boost in this one.

Girls who win as freshmen are not necessarily going to get better but freshmen boys almost always improve a great deal, and Jude Ritzenhein was top freshman in 40th in the boys' race in 15:49. As for next year, there are a bunch of top juniors and sophomores to contend, with Van Meerten and Mantecon being the favorites but Ritzenhein has a long time to drop a minute.
