Do you know what Scott Christensen’s role at Stillwater is? if I recall he retired a few years back but I have seen him at a few meets this year and he seems to be with the girls team.

Yep, witnessed this along with the entire crowd. Officials were not paying attention to the race. Don’t want to smear teens but Como coaches own this. I’ve never seen such poor sportsmanship on the track. Throwing flying elbows is not legal.

Anyone have video? He never did get DQed on official results. When did this happen during the race?

5AA Boys 3200...
I heard Como unleashed a goon to take out Blake's #1? Thats what it sounds like anyways. Como 3rd guy finished 4th, DQ'd and Blake gets third, no Q. While legal, feels super sus.
Going to need some more details

Looks like you meant 4AA
Looks like Schwemm hasn't come within 15 seconds of his PB from last year, if all three just ran normal they would have been in under the 9:34 auto qualifier.
If true then Como takes a big L in my book and hope they don't win xc next season, very bad look

Looks like East Ridge has a runner that ran 7 second PB in the 800 during the prelims
Farah continues an impressive senior year by winning the 1AAA 3200 in 9:26. Much improved from the years past.
Sophomore Lippold second in 9:39
https://results.wayzatatiming.com/meets/74487/live/track/track
8AA:
Malecka wins in 9:32
Perham freshmen Freeland and Johnson 9:37 and 9:47 (2nd and 4th)

Biggest news of the year in Class A:
Semling runs 4:34 in the 1600 and finishes 6th at his section meet, not qualifying for state. Anyone know the story?
2 sophomores (Berndt and Hawthorne-Arroyo) and 1 senior Lenton qualify for state in the boys 1600 from 6AAA

Ouch…Omar from Washburn missed the state qual time by .06.
At least he’s a sophomore so he got time
Seems odd, didn’t he just win the 3200? Thought he would be well rested after drafting Sean for 3000 meters. Guess that trip to VA was a bit much
I was hoping for more details on the 5AA 3200 as well. (I didnt even get the section correct on initial report.) I'm hoping first-hand observers can comment... or if there's a video? At face value, sounded pretty shady.
A few MN runners running at D1 regionals this week;
Abbey Nachanicky - Colorado (Wayzata) running the 10k here shortly
Tomorrow Robert Mechura - North Carolina (Roseville) and Alden Keller - Duke (Breck) will race the 5k.
Ramy Ayuob - Minnesota (Farmington) made the next round for 800m
Tomorrow Nick Gilles - Wisconsin (Minnetonka), Emmet Geres - Minnesota (Belle Plain), and Sam Scott - Minnesota (MPLS Southwest) will race the 3000m steeplechase.
I'm sure I'm missing quite a few MN athletes;

- Website is updated with trackers for all distance events by class/section, so please check it out!
- Semling fell in the 1600m today- hence the 6th place finish. Still will be in the 3200m for state.
- Gullickson goes solo 4:45. I keep mentioning it, but Gullickson vs LaMotte will rival the Emily Kompelien vs Emily Covert state battle in 2018 when they went 4:46/4:47.
- Section 1A had 15 extra qualifiers in distance events (9 girls / 6 boys)
- All 3200ms are complete except two sections (2A/8A). Just 7 extra qualifiers in 3200m with 5 of them being in that 1A section. Others are Nathan Essler in 2AA and Heltemes in 2AAA.
- Couple heartbreaks: Armstrong's Griffin Schmidt misses 800m standard by .46 and misses 2nd place by .22, Washburn has 3 1600m guys within 2 seconds of standard including Khalil Omar just .06 off, Orono's Sam Chapman was .1 off standard in 800m and .6 off 2nd place.
Website looks awesome! Just one small request for the section results, if you're able to add the grades of each qualifier that would be good to see too

Abbey got the last qualifying spot for nationals, looks like Ali Weimer - Minnesota (STMA) just missed out after placing 14th. She should be back for an exciting fall for Minnesota
Wow, unfortunate for Erik - one of the potential drawbacks of (I'm assuming) sitting in traffic instead of just taking it out and running the legs off everyone else and then cruising the last 200 or so. Tough call because I understand not wanting to burn yourself out the week before state.
That certainly makes the Class A 1600 look completely different as a lot of those top guys (Goergen and Wiehoff being the most obvious) have elite foot speed. I was expecting Littlefield to take it out hard and keep it honest to help Erik but without Semling in the race it might be a true championship-style kick-fest.

Ask and you should receive...most of the athlete grades are now included!
I had to scrape them a little bit different so some might be wrong and still missing a few, but should be close!
4 state qualifiers in the 3AAA boys 1600 race
Bakken, Goodwin, Joa, Wood
