He was right, you are wrong. Twist the facts as much as you want, the mile is NOT a champioship distance. It's not being pedantic, it's educating you.
Ingebrigtsen has not been rendered irrelevant this year. Your wishful thinking won't change that fact.
It was a championship distance in the Empire and Commonwealth Games till 1970, ignoramus.
Anytime who fails to qualify at the world's at his main distance and finishes 10th in the other isn't in the discussion. He has to win again to change that. Don't hold your breath.
Was. Got it?
Ingebrigtsen wasn't even born then. We are talking about the present.
It was a championship distance for decades in the Empire and Commonwealth Games. It was also the national championship distance in the UK, the US and Australasia for a long period, which were then dominant in the sport. But you don't know anything about the history of the sport. Now **.
The Mile is not a championship distance.
You might be confused.
Yes,
you were stupid and ignorant in the past
you are stupid and ignorant now
you will be stupid and ignorant in the future.
But not everything is like that, some things change.
So you don't know anything about the history of the sport. The Empire and Commonwealth Games were international championships. The mile was a blue riband event. But you don't know anything about that.

Apparently you don't know the difference between past and present. Typical of dementia...
The sport didn't begin with the present. But since you are little more than a child you aren't aware of that.

Well if that is so then why does Ingebrigtsen care about breaking the record? Why did El G? It is obviously a meaningless low status event.
This thread is not about the past. Try to stay on topic, or are you incapable of doing so?
You have nothing to say about whether he can break any of these records - so you haven't a clue what the topic is, just your banal petty nitpicking. You are the dumbest (inadmissable term) on these threads.

For sure he clearly is in the discussion for records and or titles in the seasons to come.
The world record holder in the 2000m, 3000m and 2 Miles who just turned 25 obviously is in the mix. The guy who just 7 or 8 months ago became double world indoor champ and set 2 world indoor records in the 1500m and the Mile, who is the 4th and 3rd fastest ever outdoors is in the mix for everybody not as stupid and ignorant as you.
Will he be back (when?) to his best form before his injuries? We don't know.
His chances to break the 3 marks in the next season (during his career)?

Maybe something like
3:26.00 - 10% (15%)
3:43.13 - 20% (30%)
12:35.36 - 25% (40%)
What do YOU think his chances are?
All of your points only apply if he had not suffered further injury this year. He had nothing of his previous form at the world's. There is no guarantee that he will ever regain that form. As it is the demands he has placed on his Achilles that caused those injuries the likelihood is they will return if he trains and competes at his peak level - which is what he would have to do to take the records he says he will get.
Well if that is so then why does Ingebrigtsen care about breaking the record? Why did El G? It is obviously a meaningless low status event.
What an unbelievable stupid argument.
Is the Mile run at the championships? No. It's not a championship distance.
But your (stupid) reply clearly shows you now have accepted that you were wrong. Just astonishing you didn't know it before.
The mile was a championship distance for much of the history of the sport; it is still a blue riband high-status event. That is why the record still matters. If it wasn't so it would be no more relevant than the 300m. Or tiddlywinks. That was the point of my response, which you didn't understand.

If he can be healthy for a good stretch he has a very good chance of getting them all. 7:17 3k! Superior to all those WRs, no?
