We merged two threads on the same topic and kept the one started by Rojo as Rojo's was started first and its his website. The 2nd thread was titled, "Random Swede runs 12:44 to smack the Africans and set new European record!?"
Do you understand the concept of "peaking"? Do you understand the concept of "specificity"? Do you understand that in the months before his half marathon Jakob was competing mostly over 1500m, with a handful of longer races, over 3,000m and 5,000m
And do you understand that peaking for 1500-5000 means training in a way that is not conducive to the best results in the half marathon?
Clearly you don't understand any of this.
What I understand is that there are always excuses for Jakob. What you overlook is that he has said he is a "half marathon man" and that the half marathon is his "best distance".
So, you don't understand anything about training. We knew that already. No need for all that waffle.

Is it even possible someone is that stupid? Yes, Arm is.
Why would I do that when I can listen to what Almgren and Jakob says themselves? Almgren became the third fastest non-African in the HM in his debut and says he knows Jakob is significantly better than him at every distance because he sees what Jakob is capable of since they're training partners.
Training isn't competing. But to those who think they know about these things there is a prevailing view that Ingebrigtsen's training isn't suited to the longer distances like the HM. It's either that or he lacks the talent he claims he has.
Yes, it's a prevailing view from people who don't know who Andreas Almgren is. So since their view is wrong, because Almgren became the third fastest non African in history in his HM debut after adopting Jakobs training, you're saying Almgren is more talented than Jakob? Is that what you want to go with?

So far he is, when it comes to the HM. He also happens to be 4 secs faster over the 5k. What you haven't considered is the possibility he is more modest than Ingebrigtsen - which wouldn't take much.

So far he is more talented! So far more talented - a true Dumbstrong.
What everybody considers is the certainty you are more stupid than Ingebrigtsen and Almgren and everybody else.

That was 4 years ago. As a 7:17 3k runner now, he can run 12:35 minimum if he goes for it.
Why does this Armstronglivs person make five or ten posts in a row in so many threads? Is he mentally ill? Serious question.
Whenever I see a thread about a great distance running performance going many pages and continuing for more than a week, I can almost guarantee it’s because Armstronglivs is posting furiously. I’ll open the thread after not viewing it since the day of the performance, and sure enough, it’s filled with Armstronglivs posts.
For some reason, he feels the need to respond to almost every comment as if we care about his take on everything.

Almgren is faster than Ingebrigtsen over the HM and the 5k. So the slower runner is "more talented"? Only on Letsrun.

But he hasn't. He may never. It is nearly twice the distance.

You do care. That's why you and others respond to my posts. You can't help yourselves. You've just shown that.

So Andreas Almgren is more talented than Mo Farah as well, since Almgren is faster than Farah in the 5k and half marathon?
I'm surprised you haven't gone back to Nurmi to try to make your point. But what is undeniable is that a contemporary of Ingebrigtsen's is faster than him over the 5k and the HM - which Ingebrigtsen has said is his "best distance".

You are beyond stupid. Almgren is faster over distances he has trained for specifically and time-trialled. Genius!

Thank you, but I am too modest to claim that. So by your argument, Ingebrigtsen is only faster over other distances because he has specifically trained for those distances and time-trialled over them.
