Does this not confirm that VO2 max peaks early? High school kids are regularly running 4 min miles. They’re already at the top of the learning curve. Going forward they’ll just be chasing marginal gains.
Crazy that 12:57i is now considered unremarkable. I remember when Isiah Koech ran 12:53i and that was huge news. I mean Ritz was a legend for going 12:56 outdoors. Different world

they both said the time felt much harder than they would have liked and were running as hard as they could. while also saying it's the best fitness they've ever had at this time of year.
i guess it's a good sign for hocker that he beat Teare at a distance where Teare easily beat him last year.
Cooper also said they are only running 6 days per week now, which is a change from before.
what can you read into a race like this where they're just trying to hit a standard, but i'll come out with a hot take anyway. Hocker won't have what it takes to be a top level 5000 guy. Not this year. Not ever.

Oh gee, look at all your upvotes, Mr. Johnson!🙄
“Mr. Johnson, aren’t you forgetting something?”
Did you forget Hocker is four years younger than Grant Fisher, yet is running 5ks five seconds faster than Fisher did at Hocker’s current age?
The more plausible take is that come LA’28, if the Lord wills, Cole Hocker will be a double-gold medalist in the 1500m and 5000m.
We see your racism. It’s so easy to see these days. You don’t even hide it.
1) Gulveer Singh on Indian National Team and testing/wherabouts in WADA/NADA (India’s USADA). Was tested last week when he at the Indian 3k record. I assume tested again today.
2) Florida kid in NCAA. No testing. None. Only busted when he retuned to India to compete and NADA caught him. NCAA did not. UofF did not. Want to cheat? Go to the NCAA. Do NOT go back to India

6 days a week has always been Ben Thomas philosophy. The change is more cross training
Watch the race again. Teare messed up and leaned at the wrong line. He might have held off Hocker, otherwise.
yeah wow. he stopped running for a split second and then got going again. think the little cone threw him off. can't say for sure if that would have been the difference. tough to tell from the angle they were showing.
