People keep using the words "guilty" and "convicted"... no crime was committed. She failed a drug test. All the drug test tells you is that a banned substance was found in her system, it has no implication of how it got there or a persons intent.
Her ban is the standard penalty for a failed test, not for her actions that resulted in the failed test. The assumption most haters make is that she knowingly doped. But the report released makes no judgement other than they didn't find her Burrito explanation plausible enough to favor an exception.
I think this is the crux of all the Shelby conversations... it doesn't matter if it was an accident or it was intentional, she pays the price for what's in her body. The price has been paid.
Personally, I do not think she knowingly cheated. I think it's a bummer she had to take a four year ban, but the rules were followed accordingly. I hope she dominates. She could have easily taken the Regina Jacobs route and didn't. The fan base should welcome her back... they don't have to do it lovingly, but all the hate doesn't do a thing.
