For those who cannot understand this subject, the women’s world record should be 2:26xx or faster. As it is now, it is 2:28.98, but that is substantially inferior to the other women’s world records. So Wiley’s run was very good, and it might currently be her best distance, but several Americans can run faster than 2:31.
Your argument is that NOBODY can run faster than the mediocre 2:31.8 run by Regina Jacobs, because Regina was a doper. This is the argument of a fool. Jakobs is not necessarily the most talented runner who ever lived. She didn’t have the advantage of the shoe tech of today. You sound like a cognitively deficient broken record.
Your argument is that an athlete with unfortunate coaching connections and a rather dramatic rate of recent improvement beats a longstanding doped record and yet must be clean. (It's always the "shoes". Do they have motors in them?)
Nobody has argued she must be clean. Are you really that stupid or are you just trolling that badly?

Current American pros? Like the ones that recently got beat by Susan Ejore at the Paris Olympics? The same Susan Ejore that Wiley beat a few days ago in an 800m race?
And remember, Wiley soloed that alone in an obscure meet. I’m not sure if there is still shell-shock on what Wiley just did, because Instagram from various parties still seem to be quiet about it. Maybe they are waiting for ratification?

Wiley ran faster than Mary Moraa and Jemna Reekie in their recent Diamond League 1000m race, and she did it soloing without pace lights.

in case it hasn't been mentioned already: Beatrice Chebet closed in 2:33 in the Olympic 5000 en route to running 14:28
competing in events like the 600, 1000, 2000 or whatever other rarely-raced distance is a great move by her agent: it's a low stress fun environment due to the times not meaning much to Addy, but from a marketing perspective she is now an American Record Holder and can be branded that way to the masses even if those of us who really follow running know it's nothing like being the 800 or 1500 AR holder

BTW, where is Wiley’s black page for breaking the American Record, rojo?

Put her in a Diamond League race a few times, behind Kipyegon, like opportunities Muir, Hull, Reekie, Bell frequently get, and then you can discount it if she repeatedly gets blown away.

Several American women can run faster than 2:31. I suppose Wiley is one of them.
this type of post is the best reminder of why someone like astro feels right at home here while virtually every professional despises you, wejo, and gault
No kidding. It was a laughable post and extremely difficult to believe that any moderator/administrator of a forum of this type would even type it out, let alone actually hit the "Post Reply" button.
The fact that he thought it needed to be repeated for emphasis in a subsequent post was like all-time looney tune.

Chebet’s close was 2:33.46, but you’re probably the same poster implying the other day Chebet or Battocletti could probably go under 1:57 in 800m if they wanted to, even though Kipyegon never has.
What is even crazier is how some of the resident idiots ignore a serious scandal that legitimately brings everything this athlete does into question and how blithely they prance over it while insulting everyone else's intelligence.

Thank you. Yes she closed in 2:33.4, which is 4.42 seconds slower than the incredibly weak world record of 2:28.98. Imagine a man closing an Olympic 5000m with a last 1000m which is 4.42 seconds off the world record, meaning closing in 2:16.38. Nobody would believe it.
If Wiley gets a winter altitude block of LSD, maybe she will use that speed to close out 5000m races at the next World Champs. But the LSD might kill her speed.

No one is insulting your intelligence! You have none.

Then go DOUBLE THRESHOLD for the Jingy experience!

You should post a list of records based on your perceptions of athlete's abilities.
That would save so much time and effort of organizing meets.
Jakob could then have that pesky 1500m record, and we could just pencil him in for the road mile over Kessler's stupid time.
The same Regina Jacobs that was banned due to Balco?
You yahoos want to celebrate this garbage, ok. You do you. But it is a farce. You can make a complete mockery of this sport if you are willing to burn your reputation down to embers.
There is nothing unusual about this performance for her. It is right in line with the rest of her performances. I am not saying she is clean, but this 1000m should not be the basis of your allegations. It is about what one would expect for her.
Agree.
Def not saying she is clean, but that this performance is in line with all her others.
Her 1:56.83 + 3:59.17 PRs are much better than Jacobs’ 1:58.08 + 3:59.98 PRs.
If you suspect she’s doping, this isn’t the performance to prove that. There are others.
