She’s young, she’s talented and she is attractive. Perfect storm for being sarcastic and snarky to people and them loving it! Remember how perfect and polite that girl next door Suzy Favor was? I think Parker is much more honest and true to herself than Suzy. Maybe it’s the times have changed? Either way she is going to be loved by men and hated by women… and beta men.
Are you really sure you want to draw a comparison with SFH?
I do not care about an athlete's personality except to the extent that it may reflect on other questions I have about that's athlete's performances. If I think an athlete is vain, petty, egotistical and attention seeking, I am going to be less trustful of that athlete because such a person is more likely to take shortcuts. Think a young Lance Armstrong.
This is exactly it. Plus, when you get dismissive and attitudinal answers, those can be interpreted as evasive. Answers in the vein of "I don't pay attention to that/I don't know what that is/I had no idea" etc can also be seen as suspect. It can be seen as setting yourself up to feign innocence later down the line with regards to other matters. To me, there is something very off with her, and it isn't "bad journalists."

Yes. The comparison is that Suzy was a polite girl next door that didn’t have an attitude for anyone… and look who she REALLY was(not that there is anything wrong with who she really was!)… then there is Parker who I’m saying is different. How did you not get that from my post?
I see several comments suggesting that women in general hate her. That is simply not true…just look at her social media. She has a lot of female fans. I think it’s fair to say most of her haters are female, however. They are a certain type of woman who feel threatened by other women for whatever reason. In this case, she’s prettier and faster than they are, and the only way they can cope with that feeling of inferiority is to lash out anonymously on an Internet forum. Since there are other like-minded women here, they get validation for their hatred in the form of “likes.” They would certainly never say these things in her presence. They might even ask for her autograph or a selfie once they realize she’s not the monster they had imagined. LOL
And yet I'm guessing it's mostly men posting on this thread picking apart an innocuous IG caption. To me, she seems like I'd expect a 21-year-old with a lot of success and attention, but not a lot of life experience, to act.
I was in the mixed zone for both this event and when Sha'Carri actually did go off on the media. I ended up with Parker giving me her phone number and Sha'Carri giving me a hug. So to say that it's women and their personalities that are the problem, I disagree.
What I've noticed being there surrounded by (mostly) male reporters is the lack of emotional intelligence. For example, you should be able to read body language, facial expressions and the general energy of the person before asking them questions. You should also be aware of your own body language/facial expressions/energy.
For example, I distinctly remember Sha'Carri walking through as fast as she could, eyes forward, yet a guy kept literally yelling at her to stop for questions. As much as we all (myself included) would prefer the athletes to stop, we aren't entitled to them. This really applies to any human interaction.
Another example that happens often with many athletes is that they may become emotional to the point where they clearly need to stop to breathe/regroup, yet some reporters don't take the hint to turn off their camera. Yes, some tears and emotion are good, but not when they aren't able to speak. Take the camera/recording device out of their face and give them a minute.
So we have reached a point when the athlete/celebrity is being cast as a victim. Life is so hard today when you're famous.
Questions for RoJo to ask at the biggest T&F meet in the US, and one of the biggest, in stature, in the world? How is RoJo going to ask those questions when he isn’t even there??
Evidently in RoJo’s mind, getting out there and putting in the work, like Citius, so that Chavez can bag an interesting interview from Parker Valby is just ‘carrying water’ for the sport.
Instead, RoJo thinks the athletes need to be assumed as criminal cheats that need to be shook down in the media zone, and since he isn’t there to do it, he’ll sick Gault on them. 😵💫
"Waiting for silly questions" is hardly being disrespectful. Flashing a smile and being active on social media seems like a smart thing to do. SR will never be the face of USA track and field, you can't market her in any way shape or form.
Netflix obviously view S.R differently than you. Perhaps you could offer your services as they clearly don't know what they're doing.
There's a big difference between a TV show highlighting sprinters and a long-term marketing plan for an athlete who can connect with an audience while conveying a message. SR has very little long-term marketing value and is lucky to have the coverage she gets now. She was grossly mishandled and or not managed well during her embarrassing marijuana suspension, and she did herself no favors with her flippant brash attitude after races and among fellow competitors. That being said, she has rebounded nicely with a string of great performances (less the 200 which she should've made the team), and she is expected to win the gold medal in Paris. Question: Can SR handle the scrutiny and pressure of winning the gold medal? And if not, what will she do. I hope she does, and I hope she wins. Unfortunately, she presents as being somewhat illiterate and unstable which isn't going to pull the big bucks.
On the flip side, you have PV who has the potential to be a marketing gold mine. She has a huge social media following, she's attractive, and can communicate with an audience (a bit more literate). The real work for PV is how fast can she run. She's not going to be on the podium in Paris, and her true earning power will be between now and the L.A. games in 2028. The one thing that will be certain is that she will be heavily managed over the next 4 years. If she can run fast enough to become a world contender, break some American records, she has the star power of Sydney M. Lavrone, Gabby Thomas, and Anna Hall. If Elle St. Pierre wins the gold medal, she too can be a valuable marketing asset. It's all about creating and maximizing one's image to a large audience.

SFH worked as a professional escort. That's the best comparison you could come up with for PV?
