A few weeks before Brooks PR. That's why she didn't run very well at that meet. One of the girls in her Brooks PR 2 mile race talked to Addy about that before the race and then she told me.
I'm sure it's healed by now, but it still takes a while to completely regain your fitness.
Word is, JSerra got yet ANOTHER transfer, in the form of Dana Hills' #1 runner, Annie Ivarsson. She's a good one to help replace Summer Wilson. This battle for the NXN invites in CA is going to be insane - with Ventura, Trabuco, and J Serra all getting better via transfers.
I haven't heard anything on transfers to the other top 2 teams at Buchanan or Santiago, but both of those teams have a lot of younger girls (emerging Soph & Juniors), so they will likely see big improvements this year. Somebody with a video camera needs to follow this story of these 5 teams all year!
Nice to see some of the top teams (Mountain Vista, Air Academy and Niwot) at the same meet even if their squads were split into different races (frosh/soph and juniors/seniors). Dominant victory by Addy against a strong field and with a new course record.

Whatever, a completely flat course, not much above sea level, versus a hilly course at altitude, the Niwot, MVHS and AAHS girls will easily dust the Lattas at NXN, if they make there, based on these 2-Mile results. Does anyone know how they handle home school teams for Nike?

As far as running as a team (if not running for a high school) at NXR…. Here’s an example: In 2017, Brentwood’s top 6 guys decided not to compete for the high school team due to administrative issues of some kind, so those 6 (including Hasty, Thompson) didn’t compete in high school races, but they did compete as a team at NXR Southeast and took 6th there. They also ran a small intrasquad time trial beforehand. The rest of Brentwood’s XC roster did compete for the high school team that year. I would be guessing you still have to either attend a high school (or compete for a high school during the Regular season if homeschooled) in order to compete for NXR as a team, but I honestly have no idea.
To make the Brentwood discussion more relevant to what this thread is about (the girls NXN), here are the speed rating from Aug 24: Brentwood - 121, 118, 112, 94, 89 Webb School of Knoxville - 140, 135, 132, 95, 93 So no issues with the new Webb School of Knoxville coach so far and they still have a good chance to make NXN. Cardinal Gibbons NC is far ahead of both teams in the TR rankings and their varsity hasn’t raced yet.

I haven't seen Celerity post anything about Leachman for many months. Maybe Celerity and Leachman are no longer working together?
In any case, Leachman's 16:32 was 2 seconds faster than her time at that meet last year. Hopefully she and the other top girls all stay healthy until NXN.
