Does anyone even have to protest? Remember when the officials DQ'ed Colleen Quigley a few years ago for putting one toe on the line coming out of the water jump? This was MUCH MUCH more egregious!
If you were in the Olympics, would you protest to get a competitor who trounced you in a race DQd for stepping on a line more than a mile from the finish line? The French should be ashamed. They are supporting the "win at all...
Surprised it's even taking them this long to update the results with the DQ. Surely they had people stationed at the start who immediately saw what happened?
Muir is a baller! Eisa should be a DQ. Monson with the A.R.!!
Muir wanted to get the 3k Q in this race . . . started her kick earlier than others . . . believe I saw 8:33 with a lap to go . . . so believe she achieved her goal . . . just as important to her as trying to win . . .

This is something the starter or another official should have seen.
If Muir's agent or coach are on site then they'll complain, but I doubt Muir herself will. I'm sure she'd like the win, but the 3k standard is more important to her.
Amazing from Muir though. Kicked for the 3k then just holding it for another 200. Probably my favourite athlete. And she races a lot, always shows up

Yeah, I think she kicked a bit too early. I think she was a bit impatient given that I think she was 4th and felt like she had to make a move. Had she held off, she might have taken it.

And when Devon Allen got DQ'd for being .01 under the allowed reaction time in the Oly trials 110H.
