Another point I want to raise is about disinformation on the Ukraine/Russia thread. One poster has suggested there is no evidence Russia has invaded Ukraine.
Others have suggested the USA was not involved in the violent overthrow of the elected Ukraine Govt in 2014 and the installation of a pro USA regime

From my perspective there are probably less pressing concerns than the last time we did this. It is always a handful of people who create the most problems on here.
There is the one serial homophobic poster still out to harass Nico Young about his personal life. We're constantly banning them/removing posts.
Got an email complaining that too many non-running threads are still in the running category.
We have been monitoring this more and trying to remove them but with our current setup there will be times non-running threads slip in. But the vast vast majority are running only.
Any other issues?
I'm going to address a rather pleasant exchange I had with Weldon the other day over e-mail. The impression I got is that they are trying hard to moderate the negative traffic but seeing every post in every thread is nearly impossible, and, as I got the impression, it's easier to scrap the thread.
I also received a message from Weldon that reinforced that as owners of the site and moderators of the site, they are people too. And some of the ways some of us address them when we are displeased (myself included) can be openly hurtful to them as people.
I had complained about name calling from a moderator but in light of this, it's water under the bridge. But I do get the impression now that they are trying as I have received three e-mails directly from Weldon regarding my concerns.
If there was a thread where people for whatever reason were discussing AIDS policy and who got AIDS then you could say something like this. Otherwise it's generally off topic.
And with the other "Gays are going to hell" posts we are cracking down on this type of post.

I know this message board is running on a program that was a 14 year old Lithuanian boy's project for his junior high computer class in the fall 2003, but if there should be a way to tell someone that they thread they are replying to has been deleted before they finish their post. It is pretty annoying to write a long reply in a thread and hit post only to find out that the thread has been deleted. Better yet, why not have all threads pass through admins before going live on the message board? That would make it harder for the board to get spammed and would get rid of the multiple threads that pop up whenever there is a big race or big event in the news.
Teasle you really need to get a life. You should take a week long break from here. I should do the same. This is not living. Don’t waste your life here threatening to see others in court. Become a lawyer if you must but just take a break.

Thats a weak tactic but yes its been done before many times. The racist deno stalker uses six phones when he posts his BBC/MOTEL6 crap. Whenever he posts, within a minute there are always 6 upvotes. Exactly nobody is supportive of that crap.

Here is another idea for you. Why not have someone approve every new thread? That happens on other sites I go to. So, approve new threads, and post reasons for why you took down other threads. All good ideas.

Also, for posters who continue to make harassing comments - know that I have collected a great deal of information and it doesn't reflect well for you, nor would it look favourably for you in legal proceedings.
There are consequences for behaviour. Behave as you wish but don't become upset when you face consequences.
For the posters on LR who have antagonized me- for the most part I don't feel their have been significant consequences. However, I can say that I've observed a noticeable change in behaviour from the poster who was calling for my death. That doesn't mean they are off the hook from being held accountable. They made their choices, I collected evidence and I will continue to advocate for fairness and accountability.
I think the fact I call out posters on their BS has caused some change in their behaviour.
