Again: I and pretty much EVERY person on these boards you consider to be a Wiley hater isn’t in fact a Wiley hater. We are Johnson haters. And we want Wiley to get a fat contract that pulls her far far away from the Johnsons. If that happens, well be lined up to celebrate the development and any subsequent medals she earns.
Thank you for articulating this more succinctly than I can. I don't like the Wiley has stuck by these people, but honestly, that's fractional and conditional. If she extricates herself from these people, then I'll cheer on her successes.
But, as a fan [as opposed to any kind of serious runner, which I'm not and have never been], my absolute loathing rests with the Johnsons and how HU handled this. My discomfort with Wiley has never been with her, but the people she runs for--who I think are exponentially immoral.
However, I teach at a university and have plenty of interactions with both athletes and administrators. You know what keeps these people up night? Title IX violations. Allegations of the kind NJ has faced in the media. Certain higher-up university admins doubling down on their own claims of ignorance, all the while the kids are pressured to take sides on a hot button issue.
I honestly cannot fathom how anyone could misunderstand that this case is about the Johnsons and Wiley's link to them. Sever link, things get better.

I don't at all doubt your sincerity with how you see it, but I just can't bring myself to blanket judge everybody within a group. While it would not be shocking to see individuals in a group doing similar things, each person is still their own person. They should not be held responsible for what other people in their group may have done. I don't see how it makes any sense or is a moral outlook to judge people by anything other than their own actions.
