Jack Buckner who had a best of 3:35.2 and 7:40.4 ran a 4:53.0. Laros should be faster than that.
He should be if he has a great race and nails the distance, but I maintain that 4:53.0 is a reasonable over/under. I could pluck a bunch of examples of guys with faster 1500 PRs who ran slower 2ks. And 4:53.0 is definitely stronger than 3:35.2 and 7:40.4, so that’s a little unusual.
4.49.68 is quite a bit faster than 4:53.0
No U20 WR for him however, but the U20 European record
The overwhelming majority of this board didn't think Jakob would get the 2 mile record. He smashed it. This board leans against Jakob getting the 2k record. He'll get it.
I didn't believe in him tonight. But he smashed It and i'm so happy. JAKOB MF INGEBRIGTSEN !! What a beast! I still think he should try to dedicate to longer distances because 1500m and Mile El G WRs are out of this world.
I'm Little bit disappointed by Nordås performance. He was 7th, did he miss the qualification for Eugene?

3:53.0 mile and then keep going...
I remember when we were impressed with Webb's HS mile record.

Looks like he is 9th (same # of points as Garcia who is 8th). How many make it?
Laros also not in (he's 13th with 8 points). That's a shame. I would have loved to see him run another 1500m. I guess that he can break 3:30 next year
Yeah man that's comical. Not sure you are that good that you are gesturing and celebrating in the final 50m of a freaking 800m race at this level. These guys don't understand the optics sometimes. At all.

Ok, I read the rules. 10 make it in. So Nordas is in. Assuming that Kerr does indeed opt out, then Gouley (11th) is in. 12th is Hoare who is injured, so he’s out. Laros would only need one more guy to scratch in order for him to be top 10.
The question I have is: Is Gourley’s season also done? He was not in Zurich and he was also not in Brussels. He was really on the bubble to make it to final, so it’s strange that he has not competed since WC. If he scratches, then Laros is in.
