This proves that Henes is an awful coach. She’ll eventually get injured just like all of the NC State runners eventually do because Henes overworks them and doesn’t know what she’s doing.
I think she just had an off day in the 1500. It happens and it’s not a big deal. Then probably decided to just pick up a qualifier as easy as possible in the 5k. No worries.
Wonder what the finish would have looked like and what time if she would have ran behind the koko pack of pros?

She went at 4:02/4:03 pace, with a negative split it may have been a record attempt. But, clearly didn't have it today. I wonder what time they were aiming for.
Probably very low 4s. She and her coaches set goals based on training times. They would not ask for a race to be paced at 4:02 unless the training times showed that 4:00-4:01 was in reach.
