First master at Houston was wearing a DGR singlet. Really hurt my soul to see that at mile 24, I was running with someone who enjoys his channel :(
From what I've seen, Seth's supporters are often faster or non-beginner runners. Ben Felton ("Ben is Running"), another 2:24 marathoner, made it a point to attend Seth's Boston shakeout.
I guess I just miscalculated who followed him. It’s strange that anyone who knows what they’re doing would actively follow Seth
Is Seth seething knowing that one of his disciples is faster than he is? Heck, does Seth even know about this guy? Seth seems to only care about himself other than uttering some platitude about, "Wow! Great job! DGR STRONG!!!".
Remember when he let a fan submit a video? People loved it and liked the guy that submitted it. Seth made certain that he never made that mistake again.
As someone has watched a lot of youtube running content over the years, I think SJD is the most watchable.
Kofuzi and Seth started out as hobby Dadvlog Youtubers. Kofuzi noticed more views when his vlog discussed running and pivoted to running. He encouraged Seth to do the same.
Seth's 2019-2021 exponential growth was due to the interesting content and the undersaturation of the market.
Kofuzi's recent growth is due in large part to Relay/shoetuber cross marketing. Kofuzi actually struggled with breaking 3 hours for years until he discovered consistency and higher mileage.
A lot of running channels got a boost because of covid. People tend to forget that.

This might be slightly inaccurate, but Seth went from something like 10,000 subscribers to 100,000 between Pikes Peak 2019 and Pikes Peak 2020. A lot of the growth was in the Fall of 2019, after Seth finished 3rd at the PP Ascent, made the US World Mountain running team, ran two Marathons trying to qualify for 2020 Marathon Trials while training for the World Mountain Champs, then running in the World Mountain running champs. Covid did have something to do with his continued growth in 2020.
As I said, Kofuzi's growth seems more recent and related to cross marketing with other shoetubers and then becoming part of the Relay crew. Kofuzi and Peter Bromka are the only two people in the Relay crew who are tolerable.

Wow, turns out that people to see someone interesting that they can root for, not a loser who keeps failing to perform and then making ridiculous excuses about it
If it wasn't for badly designed coach seats on planes, seasoned food, and poorly detailed elevation maps on race websites, a certain Colorado family man would be the odds on Olympic favorite right now.
A dinosaur weighing in here: I simply can't understand why someone like Kofuzi would sacrifice X amount of time on his new half marathon PR by carrying a selfie stick throughout the race.
Yes, yes, "it's his job," blah, blah, blah. But come on.
Congratulations to Kofuzi for surpassing SJD in the race to 172K
I wish youtube automatically unsubscribed people if they hadn't clicked on the creator's video for 12 months. I bet SJD is down to about 6-8k subs at this point.

Similarly, just calculate the ratio of his video views per subscriber. We all know how he performs in that metric.
Allie O finishes 4th in the US XC Championship and makes the world XC Team! This should be some great content, so long as usatf doesn't mess it up and prevent them from using race day footage!

I wouldn't want that as a YouTube audience member. I subscribe to more than 100 channels, most of which I haven't watched in the past year. That's way more content than can be reasonably watched, which I'd say is less than an hour a day on average for me. The subscription list basically provides thumbnails curated by me or remind me of channels to explore when I decide I want to dig deeper into archives.

Someone asked about a certain running apparel manufacturer's whereabouts in a Facebook group. The manufacturer responded with, "...I'm just trying to survive right now. I'm not afraid to say it, I'm struggling..."
