people really don't understand the filibuster. They just don't. example.
The filibuster isn't real. The fact of the matter is that Democrats could pass a law that codifies Roe v Wade today. Everybody knows it. The only thing stopping them is that a handful of the people in their own party refuse to do it, even though we all know that Republicans, who have proven one thousand times over that they have ZERO respect for "institutional norms," will happily override the filibuster if it suits them in the future.
The Democrats' refusal to put as much public pressure on the Manchinema moles as possible is their biggest failing. Appeasement has clearly not worked. It is long past time to call their bluff. They need to be told to toe the line or be stripped of off all their committee assignments and DNC fundraising. Let them try to survive as Independents or Republicans in the M.A.G.A. party. I would rather hand Mitch McConnell the Senate majority now than spend another 6 months listening to Dems whine about not being able to do anything when they control all three branches of government. "Aw shucks, Just vote harder next November!" isn't a message anyone wants to hear. These feckless, old aholes don't have an ounce of fight in them and those of us who still have most of our lives ahead of us have had enough of their BS.
Seriously? You'd rather have Mitch have the gavel?
The Democrats are going to get slaughtered in the November elections. So this is just the tip of the iceberg. I am so happy that this issue has been settled and that states can protect unborn lives in their own jurisdictions. A national law banning abortion is a real possibility. Sorry Baghdad Agip. The 50s were the happiest time in US history and this is the first step in restoring the kind of democracy we had then.
Sensationalism from the purple haired crowd. You know this didnt change anything, just leaves it up to individual states, right?
nah that's not really fair. The R party will clearly use this opening to try to pass a national ban when they next have the house, senate and WH. Might even get rid of the filibuster to do it.
It's not a right anymore, so the Rs will try to outlaw it. The former Veep already said that's what they'll do.

The democrats control all 3 branches of government? Since when?

And that’s why exactly why this ruling will inspire women to vote against Republicans in each state.
This is a huge change. Before, they were protected by Roe from their states banning abortion and could take that off the table as a voting issue. Now they have to consider whether the candidates they will choose from will take away their choice.

The happiest time in American history if you were white.
Child support payments are calculated differently in each state. Find out more information regarding the formulas used by courts to calculate child support payments.

For one, there are mothers who can get fathers pregnant, so please use more inclusive language. Second, you still can use a condom /get an IUD / take plan B/ etc
Rich people will be fine. Poor people will be screwed.
How expensive are condoms where you live? For that matter, most hospitals and clinics have free ones just sitting out on the counter for free.
If govt. can send out free masks to protect from getting Covid, cant they send out condoms, IUDs for free to keep you from getting pregnant? Asking for a female friend

Presumably you are also good with Jim Crow, "separate but equal", lynchings, red lining, bans on interracial relationships, gay bashing, etc.? The real 1950s were horrible for many people and not as depicted on "Happy Days".

Low crime, low unemployment, low divorce rate, US admired around the world, US basically unquestioned the leading economy and military. It was a good time to be an American. Today, there is little to no manufacturing base. Most of the jobs available to young people are service industry jobs.

yup. All we have to do is start a world war to decimate the economies of Europe, China and Japan and we'll be golden. Perfect plan. Count me in.

In future cases, we should reconsider all of this court’s substantive due process precedents, including Griswold, Lawrence, and Obergefell. Because any substantive due process decision is ‘demonstrably erroneous’.
Griswold v Connecticut established a married couple’s right to use contraception without government interference in 1965
