Eriyon has super shoes, and super fast tracks that usain didnt have as a teenager. So no,hes not as fast as bolt was at that age.
That 19.49 that Knighton just ran was not on a fast track. And he was not wearing super spikes. I wonder if he will run sub 18.8 when those two conditions are met...
It may be unusual for a white guy to be fast and to be able to jump, but the uniqueness of such should be kept in perspective given that the times run are mediocre for blacks. Knighton is practically 4 years younger than Boling and almost half a second faster than Boling over 200M.
So Boling is sub this, sub that, sub the next - big deal. Is there a medal or trophy for such? Until there is, kindly gain some perspective and stop the overhyping.
Knighton ran (rounded up) 19.5. Boling ran (wind-adjusted) about 19.79. So the difference is about .2 seconds. That is really close.
I am not rounded anything up and I am not performing any wind recalculations. He ran 19.49, it was wind legal. That's enough for me. Boling ran 19.92 it was wind legal that's enough for me. The difference between the two is 0.43 secs that's roughly the same distance Knighton beat Fahnbulleh - about 20M.
If I were Boling, I would concentrate on the LJ and perhaps the 400M. He would have to concentrate on throws and high jumps for the decathlon and there's no guaranty that he would be any good at any of those other disciplines.
Pretty clever of you telling Boling to focus on events that are not ones that Knighton runs. You are scared of Matt. How about let Matt decide which events he wants to focus on and not you.
Now you just trolling. By all means, let Boling continue to run the 100M/200M.

0/10
I am doing no rounding nor am I disposed to performing wind recalculations. Knighton ran 19.49, Boling ran 19.92. 0.43 secs difference. Good enough for me.
Usain Bolt was a freak of nature anyone trying to compare this kid to him shouldn't.
Realistic is can he break MJ's American record 19.32.
And the guy who RAN FASTER THAN HIM AT THE SAME AGE doesn’t qualify as a freak of nature?
Bolt was on the track in high level groups since he was 12/13. Knighton didn’t start til he was 15/16.
No one should be saying that he WILL break the WR. That’s foolish. However, there is massive reason for optimism, and those of you who think Bolt was SOOOOOO much better are, in fact, wrong thus far.

What? I'm saying here and now if he stays focused and healthy the record is inevitable. Lock it in.
Knighton should continue to run the 100M as well. Lyles needs to up his game. As good as Kerley is, I do not see him running anything faster than a 19.7.
Kerley supposedly texted Rae of the YouTube channel Raes Take TV that he's going for the WR this Saturday in Nairobi. Apparently he's in the shape of his life and track/sprinting "is easy for me now".
Of course, it's sheer fantasy on his part to think he can run 9.58 but I often find that such bravado is a sign of something special in the works. Think about it:
1. Super-fast track at the Kasarani Stadium in Nairobi
2. Altitude
3. Cool weather (if it doesn't rain)
4. Crowd adrenaline
5. Competition - Marcell Jacobs, who has the most perfect form of any sprinter I've ever seen, will be there and is looking to make a statement. He's my pick to win. That man seems like he's accelerating all the way to the finish. I predict a 9.69 - 9.72 for Jacobs.

I scored Boling on a decathlon table based on what I believe his potential is in the various events,I gave him very conservative marks especially in the field events and still had him breaking the world record easily with over 9500 points. In what would be his strenght, the 100(10.10),110(13.20),400(44.80),LJ(8.20),he totaled 4333 in just those 4 events.Boling can stick to the sprints and be just a lane filler or he can take up the multis and be the greatest decathlete of all time.

13.20 is aggressive. But he has more juice in the 100 so it offsets.
if you scored Holloway, he’d be better.
also - Knighton went Pro in Feb 2021. Not after the trials. Long before
Great run. His technique looks so much better than any of the others from that race (except one, sorry I do not know any names).
I wonder, though, what are the odds that this will remain his PB forever, that he will never again run this fast?
He is already quite strong. He can not be stronger without gaining more muscle. More muscle means more weight to move around. What if he's akready at perfect balance, with his technique already set?
Here's your answer: he is strong. In the context of speed endurance. He split about 45.00 on a relay with Grant Holloway the other day. And he is obviously fast, but one thing stands out - he has not run the kind of 100m PR one would expect from a 19.4 runner. Has yet to break 10 seconds with a legal wind. If he can drop down to a 9.8x or so, there is no reason he will not be able to produce faster 200m times
If he is PED-FREE that is the clean WR, and probably the best clean WR. If he is not, he will, barring injury, severe illness, or "transitioning", break the 200 WR within the next 4 seasons.
Have his 50 meter splits been posted? Bolt's were: 50m: 5.60 100m: 9.92 150m: 14.44 200 m: 19.19
Bolt did not run as fast as he was capable of doing so; even so, only a very special athlete will be capable of following a sub-10 100 on the curve with a sub 9.2 100...
Do sprinters benefit equally from the magic shoes? If so, are any conversions out there?

Boling has ZERO chance of scoring "easily over 9500 points" in the decathlon. And you claim you gave him "very conservative marks" and that still put him over 9500? Ha ha ha ha.
All that you've shown is that you don't understand the decathlon very well.
I'm assuming you're assuming that Bolt was dirty. Additionally, I'm assuming you think he's dirty because he has dominant in an era where everyone else has been proven dirty (nevermind he has never tested positive nor been associated with a coach or entity suspected of being dirty). I'm also assuming you're assuming Erriyon is running clean. Based on that, and your incredibly faulty logic, how can you assume Erriyon is running clean? He's 18 and just ran a time faster than a history book filled with proven cheats. If we are to assume Bolt is a cheat because he's run faster times than proven cheats, EK should get the same scrutiny, no? Or am I to assume that you're acting on bias in some form or fashion?
One things for sure, there sure are a lot of a$$es in this post.

Let's pretend Boling has an incredible first day and is on world record pace for the decathlon. This is what he would face on day 2: 1) 110 meter hurdles would be his first event day 2. He tenses up on his flat races. Imagine him tensing up on the hurdles. Ouch. 2) Discuss - maybe a decent event for him. 3) Pole vault - This would be must-see TV. But in a sick way like watching a car wreck. 4) Javelin - I think he would be exhausted by now. 5) 1500 meters - See number 3.
...Bolt...has never tested positive nor been associated with a coach or entity suspected of being dirty.
Totally incorrect, JADCO, HMW, Blake, etc being obvious examples.
I have no current opinion on Knighton and PED’s. Fast times right when you should have fast times is insufficient by itself.
10.04/19.49 is one thing, 9.58/19.19 dual WR’s after a more than sketchy history both on a personal level and on both national and international institutional levels is quite another.
Not even in the same time zone as far as evidence is concerned, although the 200m time company he is keeping is concerning, IF this clocking was accurate.
BTW there is absolutely NO WAY that FK will get the 100m wind-legal record in Nairobi—and if he does, he should be suspended immediately, and probably transported to a hospital for an intervention.
I worry about Kerley, I told you he was as serious as a heart attack. This is everything for him, this is his empire-building. He needs to be careful about his health.

Kevin Mayer has 9126,you don't think Boling is at least 300 points better ? Of course he still has to train for it and learn to pole vault but with his speed, endurance and strength,I have no doubts in a couple years he will approach 9500.

1) He tenses up in the flat 100 because he always has company around or ahead of him and knows he is not the fastest, that plays on on his mind. 2) He is explosive, that will help in
whirling the Discus. 3) Every great Pole Vaulter I know has decent speed-Bubka would sometimes run on the Soviet Union 4x1 team-and we know Boling would be the fastest decathlete ever. 4)Again,speed here will be an asset in the approach and launch. 5) Someone with world class quarter mile strenght like Boling has should be able to lumber around the oval for a decent 1500. And he should not be tired after the first day as he would be well withing his abilities in those events.

Watching that 19.49, I had to wonder.... could Knighton be the first run under 19? I might be more surprised if he doesn't than does.
