I guess we better prepare for the doping allegations, then. She ain’t going back to her home region to run in front of all her family and friends and on NBC in the biggest non-championship indoor meet to slog out a 10th place 4:30…
I like how you think you know her mind. Over-identification perhaps on your part.
I probably have much greater insight into her training and background than most here. But it really doesn’t take a genius to make this induction.
She lost ONE race all of last year (and the only one she ran that she could have lost—the NCAA indoor 400 final where a competitor had the spine to lay everything on the line to get pole position at 200 and then had the talent to hold that and force Mu to run the entire final lap in lane 2). She isn’t showing up to ANY race with the mindset of being an also-ran.
And anyone with any knowledge of her as a person (or simply her social media accounts) knows that her identity is fundamentally rooted in her family, friends, and community in Trenton and that they will be there in the audience in full-force. And that she is a star who shines brightest on the biggest stages.
If there was any danger of a mediocre performance (and I would consider anything 4:3x as mediocre for her in a major network televised meet), she wouldn’t be going.
But, you just keep being you, I guess…
