Hassan is the greatest distance runner of all time, male or female. Right?
Most D1 men are faster than her.
You are deliberately missing the point.

CBS just announced that our women's 4x4 team will be McLaughlin, Muhammad, Felix and Mu.
Jon Anderson is a solid track commentator.

Indeed. Running hard against women while culturally appropriating a hairstyle truly brings something very special to womens' running.
Those were weighted hair beads. She was handicapping herself. Very honorable.

Which leg is Molly running?

I’ve never seen so many elite athletes so wrecked. Hassan is in extremis. Let’s face it, she’s not just the best, but the bravest of all time. Certainly this is the greatest set of distance performances in Olympic history. Not just the medals, but enduring horrendous conditions to get it done.
+1
Only Kipyegon prevented the legendary triple.
What a race!
Hassan executing one of the greatest feats since Kipchoge's sub 2-hour exhibition - unbelievably good for the sport and I hope it sets a precedent of athletes pushing their bar higher and higher.
I am gutted for Gidey! Heading into the race, I wondered if all of Hassan's racing helped her acclimatize to the conditions better and despite the obvious fatigue seen at the end there, could that have given her the edge? Gidey will come back and break 29 in Brussels

How did Sisson wreck these girls at USAs? She's struggling to keep up with the other Americnas.
Lap 9 - 71.5 Americans now struggling to hold on to lead group. They’re all near the back.
Lap 10 - 72.5
Now Sisson is dropped. Damn.
They all got dropped.
Gidey is running 30:00 pace in this heat. But I am surprised Sisson didn't stick with it a bit longer.
Given that their first 5k was 15:18 and their second was 15:50 or greater, it’s safe to say they gave it everything they had. Which as a fan, is all one can ask. Good job ladies.
Sisson ran smart and did about as well as could be expected. I guess I hoped from the trials that she was actually holding a little back or had some in the tank, especially because she led so much of the trials.
I was hoping she'd run something like 30:30-45 in this type of race. Which would have put her in the top 5-6 or so. After the trials and that one road race that she dominated I wanted it. But kudos to her anyhow. She has a very bright future in the marathon, methinks.

The nbcolympics stream is the ONLY way I’ve watched track. It has been a fantastic 9 days to be a track fan!
YES, announcers are the best and few interruptions

Gidey rested up is a lock. Obiri is the opponent for second.

If so they did a pretty decent job
so what do we get in the 1500?
slow tactical or a fast from the start race?
I'm guessing fast from the start.
Well, here goes. Tim on top again.
and we're off!!
