yes i was one of three that were on campus interviews. He went from a d1 head job to a d3 head job. Everyone on here talked about the scandal when it happened.
It’s not a fair game I completely understand. What can ya do?
You have two options, continue to whine and be a victim, or keep pushing. Keep your head up. If you're the right candidate, you'll get your shot.

Thank you for saying this. Usually the people saying this aren't truly doing the best they can to make themselves the most marketable. Schools like for more than just the simple task of writing workouts. If you weren't the right candidate a lot for times it's for good reason. I bet maybe 10% of jobs end up going to unqualified candidates.
I know personally that one of the very best d3 coaches applied for the job and didn't get a call. I think they knew exactly who they were looking for.
Ivy League coaches and athletic directors have been making idiotic hires for decades.…blah, blah, blah, blah…
It's a myth that you need to have experience at a strong academic school to be prepared to coach at an Ivy League. Power 5 coaches are literally signing athletes from Africa that don't have any money, computers, or internet. If they can do that, they can easily figure out how to find smart recruits too.
We get it you’re a victim/coach not receiving your hard earned break into D1. I speak for everyone no where when I say we all truly care. It is obvious that you would get your feelings hurt because it is not just about finding “smart recruits”…hell the majority of applicants trying to get into the Ivies are “smart”. It all starts with how much of a damn the university gives towards athletics. Once they figure that part out then the ADs figure out how much of a damn aka support they want to give towards each sports program. If you would have put your feelings on the back burner about those your self proclaimed mighty brain deemed “less than” you would have seen that the cutting of programs in the Ivy League indicates greater complications other than just getting “smart recruits”!
Everyone no where is wishing you the best of luck on your Ivy pursuits!
What happened with Chorny? Fired or gone on his own? Georgia didn’t have a great year especially outdoors. I believe 10th was their worse finish in a while? But why fire the XC coach? Was it really distance points that hurt them?
The Assistant Coach will assist the head coach with the organization, development, and implementation of a competitive NCAA Division I Track & Field program in compliance with NCAA and A10 Conference rules and regulations. Th...
Apparently the University of Georgia is hiring a distance coach…again. Imagine being stupid enough to go there and think it’s going to work out.
Georgia regularly hires distance coaches who don't deserve the position and are surprised when they fail
Did Cunniff, Henner or Chorney really fail? How many scholarships were any of those guys given to work with? Near impossible to have success in the SEC with walk-ons.
Probably a good chance Chorney is off for somewhere else if it is true he is gone.
A black woman who is an alum and has a BADA$$ resume!!! This is a great hire for UCLA!!!
I'm rooting for her...and I didn't go to UCLA, I'm not black, and I'm not a woman. Maybe we should look at what she brings to the table as a coach and experienced elite athlete and not the color of her skin or gender.
I’m with you on she’s well deserving and I think an excellent hire. i hope she find success there, and by looking at her resume, she’ll do great.
where you lost me, is the comment that white guys had been getting these jobs forever. do we know if minorities really applied for these positions, were minorities actually interested in coaching, did minorities have the experience to get these jobs before? it’s not as simple as just giving white guys jobs.
With that said, representation is VERY important, and even though Im a middle aged white guy (and folks in general don’t really care what we have to say about stuff like this), I’m extremely happy to see minorities and women given the opportunity to Coach on all levels and work their way up to the level they desire.

She’s only run 12.37. It’s not a perfect comparison, but that’s like a male who’s only run 9.83 in the flat 100. Good time but not great

I can say for me. I was not whining. I was giving an experience I had based on the convo. I'm a believer of you land where you are meant to land. No matter what you really want. It means its not time yet. I definitely believe folks do whine on here when they think they are better or have been wronged.

Lol ok now I KNOW people are just jealous. Imagine saying 9.83 is good but not great lol

You do understand that not sooooo long ago that there was a plethora of jobs that POC folks were blocked from, couldn't get, be considered for, or let alone even be in the same places and spaces as white people. That include folks of color that were the smartest in the room but dismissed because of some extra melanin. The "lost" portion of your response displayed a bit of ignorance.
Absolutely nothing wrong with you speaking on these matters, and some of us do care- just that one part skipped a whole historical context that still affects a lot of people today.

I am not against checking some boxes. What I am against is just hiring someone without interviewing a top 3 even if you do already know but at least give 2 other ppl a fair shake. Just maybe you’ll see they may be better than the one you were just going to hire. Seems like that usually ends in disappointment
