The past 18 months have been the deadliest in the West Bank since the second Intifada. The Israeli settlers aren't exactly trying to avoid hurting civilians; they've been consistently attacking Palestinian villages, even though Hamas has barely any presence there.
That's one side of the story and we know for a fact that Palestinians like to lie.
I don't believe most of these attacks are unprovoked and are just random acts of violence. If they are I condemn them.
I also think Israel needs to stop with the endless settlement and expansion.

My anecdotal survey of the American Muslims I know reveals a pretty significant shift in opinion about groups like Hamas and ISIS, which I think is pretty consistent amongst most moderate Muslims. They hate what Israel does to the Palestinians, but are also sick and tired of what they see as a perversion of Islam by the hardliner clerics who preach that the infidels must be killed in order for Muslims to find heaven on Earth. They are sick and tired of everyone thinking that they might be a terrorist when they go to the airport or go through a metal detector at a sporting event. There has been a lot of pushback among moderate Muslims to all the jihadi garbage that is out there. A lot of Muslims who are parents right now were in their teens and twenties during 9/11 and the Gulf/Afghanistan war. They are pretty strict with their kids in keeping them away from the online jihadi garbage and teach them that for all its flaws, living in the US is way better than a refugee camp in Pakistan. That has been a big generational shift and I think it explains why the number of Islamicist inspired terror attacked has decline sharply over the past decade (until Hamas' attack).
I very much hope that your anecdotal survey is more representative of the mentality of American Muslims than my anecdotal survey is.
That is not a test my friend, and is not even relevant. This is Israel vs Hamas, not Israel vs Palestinians or Israelis vs Palestinians. And those assumptions are way too flimsy to hang your hat on. The only safe assumption that can be reasonably generalized is that Palestinian and Israeli citizens want peace, but their leaders' interests aren't aligned with delivering that.
