What a surprise that one of the incompetents was in Russia.

Be easy on ole' Witkoff. He almost certainly went to Russia with just 2 things on his to-do list: Remind Putin that Trump will do and say anything that he wants with regard to Ukraine (and pretty much anything else), and discuss some corrupt business initiatives.

And then, low and behold, he has to worry about Russia getting sensitive U.S. info. But that's OK, the discomfort didn't last for more than a few moments. When he remembered - or was reminded - that it was perfectly OK. Vlad's the good guy.

On a much lower level, can't we all be pleased that Walt Nauta - who one can comfortably assume got away with committing multiple crimes between DC and Mar a Lardo handling Top Secret documents - is now back to flying around on Air Force One (and fetching Diet Cokes) with Donnie?

It's heart-warming rehabilitation stories like that which make me proud to be an American.

Ford -3%

Lear (car parts) -7%

Gee man it seems to me that these tariffs are not being welcomed by the Michigan-based auto industry.

it never did (it brought some but nothing close to the promise).

stock prices don't reflect today's sales, they reflect the discounted cash flow from sales far into the future, you moran. The stock prices are saying there is no way supply chains can reconstitute in a short period of time. It will take years and years to rebuild what decades and decades of policy produced.

And in those years and years lots and lots of michiganders will go unemployed.

I know trumpers are preparing to say 'the trump recession is a very very good thing' but that's not going to keep people off welfare and crush tax receipts. The deficit is about to go through the roof again.
