Some Signal chat conclusions:
1) SECDEF looking EVERY BIT the very junior officer/enlisted (or just 12-year old video gamer?) getting his rocks off by talking about cool strike things. It just OOZES pathetic from a guy so, so much higher than he ought to be.
2) Afterwards, Mike Waltz, Special Forces Colonel, PRETENDING/LYING that he doesn't know that you'd NEVER talk about such things through those channels. It's especially galling when a guy who's political career probably owes a HUGE (and probably irreplaceable) debt to his military background pretends not to know something he learned NLT 10 minutes after he joined.
The second one, especially, emphasizes that ACTUAL importance of character. We knew it before, but....again, experience and expertise and intelligence and training and education mean NOTHING if you'll toss some or all of that aside in a second in order to serve your POS boss and the overriding ambition that drives it.
