I have been hearing this for years. They said it last year when Fred Kerley was finished. This year 2:59.9 . Next year maybe even faster. It's going to take more than a year for texas to catch up. Oh new recruits look over here and I'll show you the new outdoor track you will run on while here at A&M. Goes well with our indoor track. Don't see any of those at texas, Baylor or tcu.

Completely different Athletics Director making the calls on the hires. I will make a different prediction- I predict Austin, Texas becomes the new Track Town and running capitol of the US. Here is to sunshine, tail winds, packed stadiums, #floknows, and where Olympic Champions go to train and congregate. There will be a mass import of coaches and athletes wanting to transfer to be close to this action. Hookem.
Geopfert had terrible year in Arkansas maybe he got letgo.
I am a Longhorn parent and track alumni very close to the program. Never knew Tonja as a back stabber. She did a great job getting the most out of the athletes. She showed poise and leadership through a tough situation. We all loved Sategna as well. Whomever gets either one of those will be very fortunate!
Would be ironic if Bucky ends up going to Seattle and Travis screwed himself out of the head job at Arkansas by jumping at BAS offer.
Travis is a wonderful person, coach and recruiter. Speaking from experience- nothing worries a top recruit more than when one wins Assistant Coach of the Year and gains a ton of recognition as an Assistant and his work with Lawson, McLeod, Irwin, and Lazas. Recruits and their parents were left knowing he was on the short list for most Head Coaching positions elsewhere. You are left with wondering if Fayetteville and U of Arkansas is the right place for you if Travis wasnt there- for he was the main draw. Glad Tennessee brought him on as an Associate Head Coach. Travis is a winner!

Didn’t realize he coached the vault and hurdles....
He was jumps and multis, my mistake. However, with his years at Arkansas, he was 2013, 2014 Assistant Coach of the year, Coached 3 Olympians, 11 NCAA Individual National Champions, 69 Individual Conference Champions, 92 NCAA All-Americans, Coached Bowerman Award Winner, Jarrion Lawson, Bahamian National Champion and 3 Jamaican National Champions (titles), 3 American Junior Records. I think that is enough to make a recruit nervous of whether or not he would be at Arkansas long as an Assistant.
