What is the story at JMU? Even though a women's program only, might be a good job.... For a woman of course.

They currently have a Head T&F and a Head XC coach, so not much room for growth.

Good chance Gondak will become coach at PSU, but... theres a few in sightings of other coaches in PSU apparently. Word is that Gondak may move up and they will bring in a distance/recruiter.. Gibby, Wood, or maybe a D2 powerhouse coach?

JMU will probably bring in a part-time or grad assistant, who make 20% of what Coach Walton has been paid.

the posting is for a full time head coach position. promoted from within to the directors position. it won't be a part time or GA spot.

Wow. Most of what you wrote is exactly the opposite of what I was told by a former co-worker (a bit of a weasel to be up front & honest) within the administration of the PSU athletic department.

Indoor facility is coming. Plans are there and money has been promised given the right conditions.

Need to start recruiting better. This year's group has some promise in a few events, but it's certainly not Grade A.

Keeping Stoker on is the right move. Quality coach who is fairly well known regionally. Good personality for recruiting.

Whoever said the Vols need a good sprint and jumps coach hit it head on.

Stoker is no rat.

It is excellent news that he is staying at UT. Look for positive things from him and his athelets in the future.

It's a job. Whether RS did what you suggest he did is beside the point, since these things are a part of every job in America, let alone college coaching. The noise surrounding JJ Clark as Director of Track and Field was deafening before RS ever walked on campus.

Gotta be the pay. Seems he must be a good recruiter but is never at a school long enough to recruit or accomplish anything. Guess he knows the right people.

So you're saying he was a college coach for a few years at Kennasaw before having his degree??? This is why our sport is messed up. You've got this minority who can get jobs with little to no experience and no college degree and then you've got white males with master's degrees who are coaching part time or volunteering.

Why does everything bad about our sport, the world or whatever have to come back to race. I know plenty of black, Asian, and Latino coaches with masters degrees coaching part time/volunteering. I also know plenty of white males who have great positions based purely on who they know and vice versa. It's not race it's politics. If you are connected you make moves if not you hope for a big break.

What's messed up is that you have no idea on progression. Who stated his services at KSU were full-time benefited. He very well paid his dues I'm sure...ESPECIALLY as a minority. Some of these white males think book sense qualifies them as qualified coaches. It's all about applicable experience.
