To me her positive test explanation made perfect sense it was an acne medication that caused it. Much better excuse than others make. You can believe she is clean or not but that doesn’t really have much to do with David as he wasn’t coaching her at the time.
I absolutely agree David's apologist mentality for dopers is unacceptable and really suspicious - that's been one of the biggest red flags from him in recent months (the change in tone from David 2-3 years ago, and especially 5+ years ago, to now makes you wonder...) BUT I will also call out that Allie wasn't working with David during this time. I won't comment on it further, but just for anyone who thinks we will go against him at all costs...willing to call out where he shouldn't be associated.

No idea how this works, but is there a chance he’s tested positive and it’s not public yet (appeals etc.)? Someone thought he was tested at Javelina but not sure if that’s true.
Well all the hard work from posters here is finally paying off. His last video was almost entirely about the haters. Mission accomplished I guess?
David, have you ever considered that you might be the hater?
When you go around saying you could run sub-4, but never even try to run 5 miles @5 min pace or 10x400/60s recovery averaging 59s or 5x1000 in 2:42, it's honestly insulting to the people out here who have done these things and have broken 4 (or come heartbreakingly close).
In the same way that you might consider it insulting if some college miler said, "I'm in shape to win Western States. I don't need to ever step on a real trail or run more than 2 hours, but I just know I'm good enough to win," it's hating when you just assert you're in shape to run under 4 (at sea level or altitude).
Maybe that's why there are 1000s of replies in this thread...?
she served her ban and had a perfectly reasonable explanation, holding this against her years later is a bit fanatical. let's keep our hate focused on Roche here
Some are very competitive, others not so much, but they're a big thing for trail runners.
Another example of his loose language to prop up ordinary things (and that midpackers find impressive)
.. aaand that's what it's all about in the world of David Roche. Look like a hero to those who like to run but aren't serious about it or fast (=most of his paying clients he rips of selling "personalized" training to). He wants to be admired & get lots of attention.. love you all!!!
Most recent absurdity: he did not say that he cried about getting a segment or promote it like it was a huge accomplishment within the greater running community.
Here's his insta post so people can decide for themselves if your assessment is correct:
"Gold Hill FKT: 1:04:25 uphill and 2:03:58 for the loop 🧡❤️💚💙 I never, ever thought this would be possible for me. Before Strava in 2010, I ran a 1:20 and it took everything I had. In 2019, I ran 1:07:51 and had to hitchhike back. On Tuesday, at 36 years old: 1:04:25 and kept it rolling for the loop crown. I cried on the way back home while listening to “Could Have Been Me” by The Struts, the song that has fueled the last few months of winter training with a newborn. I screamed the lyrics through the tears: “Wrapped up in your regret / What a waste of blood and sweat.” I imagine the other drivers at the stoplight thought that the guy in the Subaru was GOING THROUGH IT. The tears were gratitude pouring out. @drmeganroche never let me accept the narrative in my head that I had reached my peak. She encourages me not just to go for it, but to shine my light fully in the process. Look at these texts she sent as I went out the door. Director @codybare_ put up with me waffling with uncertainty about this effort, finally just saying he believed in me and that he’d be there to film on a moment’s notice. This effort will be Episode 6 next week. And I was overwhelmed with love for that 22-year old kid in 2010 who didn’t let people tell him that it was dumb to care so much about something so trivial. For that 30-year old in 2019 who thought he had reached the ceiling of his talent in a busy life, but kept showing up. For all the people who cared enough to keep me going when I had trouble finding that belief for myself. I’m not sure where this effort will stack in history when all is said and done. But even if the time gets crushed tomorrow, I will always look back on that day as one of those special moments where years and years of work stacks up perfectly. 18 years of brick stacking for a dream day… and one brick made of pure f***ing gold 💛 I love you all!!!!"
This post reads like something yaboyscottjurek would post on his Instagram account.
"I’m not sure where this effort will stack in history when all is said and done."
wtf
Haha this aged well. Immediately shot down by 2 dudes on a taper workout. I’m sure he’ll say how amazing they are though, huzzah!
That's exactly what he said. Commented on both posts on Strava with excessive exclamation marks and superlatives.
I still think the weirdest thing he did recently was that long run on the diagonal highway using his phone as the source data. He's literally willing to risk death and fudge data to show his social media media following that he's 20 seconds per mile faster on a meaningless run

I think most coaches would encourage you to use the least accurate means of tracking your run data.
The latest podcast was extra special. They spent the first 40 minutes crying about online haters. Kind of amazing how two adults can be so upset over comments from strangers on the internet. If you can’t stand the heat, get out of the fire?

it's surprising - he has basically taken on the personality of Richard Simmons and doesn't expect anyone on the internet to comment.

does he still deny reading this thread?
Yeah he says he “never reads” any of it. And when I say they were crying I mean literally crying, it was very uncomfortable.
