That’s quite impressive. If Callum did race, you think he would’ve at least been on Sean’s level?
I dunno. I don't see him running 14:28 for the Hayward High 3-mi like Sean did but Callum is a strength-based miler (solid endurance but never Lucas/Sean level, but instead a big kick, like Arrin and Miles). Sean kinda underperformed at 5k, and with modern times just being faster I think Callum could've been dragged to something fast at D4 states. I'd expect something in the sub 15:10s based on his TCAL champs performance where he put in race-predictor effort for states, but with Sean being 15:08.8 that's really really close so we'll never know 🫠
edit: oh, you were saying "on Sean's level" not to definitively beat Sean's time. I would say yes then, time-wise at the Woodward park course. But Sean ran in an era where 15:08.8 was front-run and Callum is running in an era where low 15s is good for at best 3rd, so it's not really the same all things considered. but still, apples to oranges. Peak Junior Callum would get Senior Sean in the 1600 every time.
