I’m not trying to pile on Allie O. I was trying to make a broader statement about athletes and testing. It is my belief that they would be wary of anything they take as medication. But this thread isn’t about her. I actually think she has done some good for a lot of people by being open about her ED.
I’m pretty sure whenever he says he’s in 4:00 shape he also says “ON THE TREADMILL”
which is way way different. He only has to be in about 4:10-4:15 shape to be able to run 4 on the treadmill.
dude, David is not even in 4:10-4:15 shape. Maybe when he was 25, but that was over a decade ago
In his 6xmile workout he closed his last mile in like 4:23. That’s at the end of a workout. I dont think it’s crazy to think that fresh he could run 4:00 on the treadmill. Now what that equates to a “real” outdoor mile that’s a different conversation.

Or, you know, just use your watch and do a manual entry on Strava.
On to more important questions. When Megan and David are alone, no cameras, no other people, do they incessantly tell each other how awesome they are, that they are beasts, and oh my god I love you so much? Do they say anything else? Any swap podcast I have started they talk to each other as if they haven’t been together since the last podcast (except to make videos for social media).
Perhaps inspired by David, decorated ultra runner Andy Walker and training partner Cade Michael showed up to absolutely decimate his Gold Hill CR by nearly two minutes. Best part is that it was a workout, not a continuous effort.

This all says something about how utterly silly David's videos are - he takes a random 15k Strava segment, runs it all out at race pace, gets a relatively noncompetitive CR, and then tries his best to convince everyone that this was somehow a remarkable achievement. It's silly and intellectually dishonest.
David last raced in October at Javelin. There, Riley Brady won the women's division. Riley then crushed up the CR at Black Canyon in February by like 30 minutes. David hasn't run an actual race is six months.
I realize David's wife had a kid recently, and I'm not holding that against him, but he's not in peak physical shape. Otherwise he'd be running actual races, like actual pros do. Instead he's making silly videos and play-acting a pro for his internet followers.
I don’t think there is a mission to any of the hate, other than to help people who have not been exposed to the Roche nonsense understand what kind of person they are listening to and potentially getting (bad) advice from. If David was truly open, no secrets, and honest about his training and coaching practices, under went drug testing throughout his training cycle before attempting to set records and shock the world, and maybe dropped his bs all love all the time schtick I’d feel better, though! Huzzah.

It's all kind of sad if it weren't so dishonest.
Nope. You idiots are outdoing yourselves with your ridiculous assertions about the guy. The funny thing is that I was mostly in the middle about Roche -- I like some of the info on the podcasts but think the videos and "I love you all" are a bit over the top -- but this thread has been a pretty extraordinary smear campaign for someone who isn't exactly a household name even within the running world.
Not one accusation against Roche, other than maybe that some of his online coaching clients were unhappy with the lack of attention, has been true. I've literally debunked every single one at various points on this thread.
Most recent absurdity: he did not say that he cried about getting a segment or promote it like it was a huge accomplishment within the greater running community. I went and looked at the Strava post, and he said that he had run the segment all-out something like 15 minutes slower a long time ago, then 3 minutes slower a few years ago (and that both efforts had wrecked him), and was happy with his personal PR on the segment and that he could keep going feeling instead of being wrecked. And then that he cried for all the support he has gotten from his wife, supporters, etc. To say that he promoted the segment and cried about getting it is disingenuous at best and lying at worst.
I don't follow ultra-running all that closely, but from everything I've read he's expected to be a contender at Western States and could possibly win it. That's play-acting a pro? Seems perfectly legit in that world to me. Let me guess, you're one of those idiots who says that Matt Richtman sucks because he's still 7 minutes off the world record? Crap on Conor Mantz's 59-low HM because the world record is 56-mid?
Oh, and how big of you that you'll at least acknowledge that his wife had a baby so hasn't raced since, let me see, October 31st. Wow, whoever heard of someone not racing for 4 months, let alone when his wife has a baby. What a prince of a guy you are. He's racing some 50k this month if I remember correctly. Win or lose, I'm sure we can count on you to be on here cr-pping on the result. I'll save you some energy: if he wins, he doped or cut the course or the competition sucked; if he loses, then all those things plus he sucks too. See how that works?

So glad you came back to “throw down the truth” on all of us basement dwelling losers (or whatever stupid projection you came up with). You haven’t “debunked” anything of actual substance. There’s been alot of stupid thing said on this thread so congratulations on recognizing incongruencies at a 5th grade level!
