Pure speculation on potential replacements for Johnson, not in any particular order.
Ben Thomas, Andy and Maurica Powell, Edrick Floreal, Mike Smith, Diljeet Taylor, Lonnie Green.
Now that this is official, back to speculating.
Diljeet Taylor would be excellent. Especially considering the issues and complaints Oregon faced this year. She gave a presentation at convention a few years ago about the myth of needing to be thin to win. And this way Oregon could potentially retain Ben Thomas to coach the men’s distance runners. If you hire Mike Smith or Dan Waters or the Powells you lose Thomas.
sdasfrear, shut the hell up you have no right to tell people what to post about, if it hurts your feelings move on. You’re probably one of these coaches they’re talking about. Shouldn’t a Head Coach not post on letsrun?
No fatz , sdasfrear is an adult and assumes posters to act as such
This is letsrun man, are you new here? Y’all let anything get to you, these ppl are anonymous!

Good fit? yes.... but why on earth would she want that headache? BYU can match any offer and she will continue to get every top LDS runner in the nation- THERE ARE A LOT of them.
She can continue doing what she loves at the highest level without the headache of being the Director of Oregon and all that will come from that. Plus with NIL on the horizon of changing the sport, BYU is in a GREAT spot with the church and it's rabid followers to be a top school to retain those high level recruits and pay them the money they deserve.
She goes to Oregon and she is back to the rat race. BYU is the easy street for her.
Oregon is a revolving door with no upside other than career wise you feel like you've reached the mountain top only to find it barren and cold.
and that is how I felt when I read the Dan Waters rumor. Not that I don't believe it, but he's on record talking about work life balance and recruiting international exclusively because it is less visits and its all videos he can do during the day in his office. which is genius. That's less of an option at Oregon.

Somebody is delusional. BYU can match any offer? WTH? BYU, the Mormon Church and rabid followers? WTH? NIL money. If the Ivy League schools and their tens of thousands of wealth alumni decide to give NIL money, its a game changer, they have the deepest pockets.

More than 300 BYU student-athletes are eligible to benefit from the agreement that could surpass $2 million in benefits to the women in exchange for them sharing info about SmartyStreets and participating in company events.

BYU LOL...
Oh yea... I'm sure after decades of not offering any athletic scholarships to their athletes that they'll just start dumping truck loads of money on them even when they won't let them compete in a 5th-6th year. Seems rational.
Back to my comment- BYU will give her the money to stay and her program is set up for much more success in the long run with NIL and her ability to win than it would ever be at the O. add the other poster comment on work life balance and it's a done deal- TaylorMade to Stay at BYU
Is there a reason nobody is thinking Lehman-Winters could be promoted to Director at Oregon? She’s got a solid history of success, is very good at procuring foreign athletes and transfers that make big program impacts, and doesn’t seem like she’s been caught up in the controversies around Johnson. Seems like she could be a solid fit to lead the program with Johnson out.
Might be tough to rationalize Helen as the next Director. I do hope she gets it though because those drop in results aren't always tied to the asst coach- often it comes from the top with scholarship allocations and team culture. They should hire a woman regardless and since she is already there that is easy enough. Based on her history she does have enough success being the one "in charge"
Dave Smith could be in play. With the changing NCAA landscape OSU could be a harder place to stay competitive. He could bring a few of the stars with him right away for both genders.

Will be interesting
Now show the track finishes...Just out of curiosity.
