^ 15:05 doesn’t even get you in the top 10 in DII last season- just goes to show that everyone got better post-co ‘23. Just saying Co ‘23 compared to recent classes weren’t that great just because of Newberry Park
Can you all talk about cross country on the cross country thread? This is the track and field thread. How about talking about the 9th grader from Servite that ran 46.3 today?

I began growing a beard my freshman year and I was 14 for my whole freshman year (my birthday is always a week or two after school ends- it’s actually in 3 days lmaooo)
JSerra High’s boys and girls teams excelled at the CIF Track and Field Championship in Clovis on May 30-31, led by the boys’ 4x800-meter relay team’s record-breaking performance en route
Jserra and Jesuit are not true hs - they are simply an all-star team recruited outside of the area, often in direct conflict with CIF rules. Shameful.
Three of those JSerra kids on that relay came from private parochial schools less than 5 miles from JSerra campus as incoming freshmen indicating more than one reason (academics and religion) other than athletics to attend JSerra. Newman transferred in after his family moved closer to JSerra last summer and didn't have a sit out period (per CIF Website). Does that constitute recruiting (and still waiting for your definition of recruiting)?
It’s possible that Bilodeau was recruited but let’s be honest here too, people have a choice on transferring to a school. Bilodeau simply could’ve said nah to transferring if he so wanted to. This also applies to guys like Ajani Salcido, Spencer Pickren, and Brandon Moreno (who were just decent and average runners before transferring to Jesuit, maybe Connor is a different case since he was already one of the best sophomores in the state prior to transferring)- were they recruited or choose to transfer to Jesuit on their own accord. Hell, if it wasn’t so expensive to attend and not 30-40 min commute from home at the time, I would’ve transferred to Jesuit just because of their xc and track program- it actually was something I considered when I was 15.
