Firstly you guys claimed..."hey, its just the flu"...i.e. (a) the consequences aren't that bad, or (b) it will spread as rapidly as any un-vaccinated flu

We know that (a) is not correct and on (b) it may even spread more rapidly, but we already know that flu spreads through close contact, so you already agree that social distancing works.

Then you say ..."hey , I said its only a flu, the numbers are the same, social distancing didn't work" despite the fact that flu's already have the barrier of immunity and vaccination, and despite the fact that the numbers are the 'same'- in fact still increasing with less social contact.

So which one is it ? You guys are now arguing around in circles with yourselves.

It must drive you mental, arguing with that voice inside you...take some medication and a lie down.

I asked a couple of simple questions - You saw them, so please answer them in a manner that the average person can understand.

I haven't argued with anyone, I have just been asking questions trying to better understand this virus. Why so angry?

Haha! Well done. Some of these people feel so compelled (needlessly) to dispute everything they think the other "side" is saying (whether its actually even said or not) to such an extent that they often end up with completely inconsistent, irreconcilable positions. The cognitive dissonance doesn't seem to bother them. They resort to the usual techniques - ignore, deny, lie, deflect, move goalposts, exaggerate, etc. Whether that's done deliberately or as a result of low IQ is anyone's guess. Maybe their psychiatrists know.

The first case was recorded on January 31 - first death was Feb 6 but I said first case. So you probably shouldn’t call me stupid when you have incorrect information ......

And you ignored the two main questions in my post. It’s a shame that you chose to misrepresent what other people say, discount the misrepresentation as stupid and resort to childish and petty name calling. All that does is add credence to the argument that your claims are baseless. This seems to be your constant fall back. You admit you were wrong saying COVID19 was not as bad as the flu and you now say it’s as bad as the flu. It’s not a great leap to explore the possibility you are wrong on two more fronts - COVID19 is worse than the flu and social distancing has a positive effect on reducing the spread of the virus and therefore deaths from the virus.

You are truly obsessed with me. You do realize that everyone is laughing at you, right? The 3 or 4 here that keep posting under different names may give you a sense of community, but the vast majority of people, you know, the ones OUTSIDE DOING SH!T, understand my point. You are clearly on the spectrum so I'll take it easy on you, but your "Spazzing out" comments, your uncontrolled rage and fixation on me are quite abnormal.

40 Coronavirus deaths and we freak the F**K out and go into lockdown mode based on overblown models and projections.

66,000 deaths is not the millions that was the rationale for the drastic measures taken. Everyone else already understands that the models were wrong and the lockdown was fueled by irrational fear. People are in the streets demanding that it end. You are in your house hiding from the boogeyman and fantasizing about me. Very telling.

66,000 and we are in full panic mode

That's the point now and has always been the point.

Everyone else gets it.

Now you guys can sit here and try to convince yourself that the 66,000 is only because of social distancing that started at minimum, 6 weeks after the virus was in California. You can debate among yourselves how this highly contagious killer virus that stays on surfaces and transmits through the air had not already infected the millions of people who traveled freely for at least 6 weeks prior to any lockdown. You can debate the antibody tests that keep showing widespread infection and mortality rates of .1 or .2%. You can spend the rest of your weekend trying to figure out the math of how a virus with a .1, .2, .3, .4 or ever .5 mortality rate had the potential to kill 2.2 million people among a population of 332,000. Since you developmentally delayed toddlers need something to occupy your free time, that's your homework. I'll be back Monday to grade your papers. It's 1PM and 75 degrees out and I'm headed to the beach TO ENJOY THE SUN! Try not rage too much while I'm gone, I hear the virus causes strokes.

Your problem is, and has been, that you do not understand exponential growth and time lags. No models were prediction 2.2 million deaths in 6 to 8 weeks. You need to calm down and get educated.

If people would simply ignore those they disagree with we wouldn't have this hellstorm that used to be a running site.

One side will always come up with something that supports their viewpoint as will the other side.

Thanks. I answered his post in a way that my 8 yo niece understands, but not him. No , he needs a full scientific explanation of how there is a lag in deaths and how exponential infection works.

mmhh , no. I am even allowed to travel interstate for work and get exemption from a 14 day quarantine

When our restrictions came out, we actually cooperated, so we didn't need a full lock down at home. Stay at home unless you need to go to work (cant work from home) , go exercise, go to supermarket etc

And look at our cases now. And soon we will travel to NZ etc.
