CSU is a place that can win. I believe Art will do a good job. What is good? Will they be top 10? Maybe eventually but I doubt it will happen in the next 4 years. Top 5? I doubt it. Posts like this make me suspect that many in the LR community have at least a mild form of Aspergers or some sort of personality disorder

I am far from a family member or close to his program. What I am is someone who understands how to spot a great coach from a great recruiter. If you actually follow the sport, you start to pick up on what programs are doing great things, regardless of division. Without fail, ignorant people get on here and bash coaches, right or wrong. Sometimes they bash people like me, who know what they are talking about.

Art was Tera Moody's coach for the '08 Olympic Trials. I want to say he was coaching a few other good post-collegiates, but had to give it up to focus on his own collegiate teams. He's one of the few coaches I'd go to if I needed a coach (if he was willing to take on any post-collegiates again). And no, I'm not related to him, nor have I met him. The guy seems to know what he's doing. Great hire for CSU.

Pat is great and will do well with the throws at PSU. Nice to see an out of the box hire. Some different challenges in d1, but he'll adjust. I heard PSU wanted MN coach but he recommended Ebel - buddies from the D3 days I guess.

That's a nice thing for the MN coach to do. As far as Beth, she has a great job in a place that's easy to live in. She's definitely in the hunt if she wants, but it would take a big salary to pull her to Palo Alto

I thought Dave Milner was the new distance hire at ETSU. Did something change since early June?

I assume by the d3 connection PSU was head hunting the men's throws guy at MN...both throws coaches at MN are good coaches and people from what I have heard. I just wanted to say that it saddens me a bit that a D3 guy is considered an out of the box hire, as Pat and many other D3 coaches are great at what they do! The WIAC conference in the throws is far tougher than most mid major D1 and some BCS conferences, and that has a lot to do with Pat and the other coaches there. That being said, back to the topic, any idea on the happenings with UVA throws? Ohio State? Stanford, although that will be a while? Florida State? Some awesome throws jobs out there right now and a couple more will probably open up when those are filled.
