For the record, I'm going to make a fortune off the Trump presidency - I'm in the top couple of percent of income. I'll no longer be asked to subsidize so much health care. If the ACA goes away.

I just feel that as the richest country on the planet we have a responsibility to provide health care to people who can't afford it. Call me crazy.

And I don't need another tax break - between my mortgage deduction and municipal bonds and other breaks I've always paid a fairly low effective tax rate.

But my main complaint against trump is ethics - he is a moral cesspool and is dragging the nation into it.

Poor trump supporters they are so gleeful yet they still have no idea that trump played them for suckers.Mr gold plated dictator chic does not identify with them.These trumpsters can cheer we won as much as they want but trump has made them losers.They are dumb but you have to feel a little sorry for them.

let's be honest - trump and the 'forgotten americans' do have a lot in common.

both have been shunned/ignored by the elite

both speak in plain ways

both are old and overweight

both are fairly ignorant

I could go on. There is a real bond between the forgotten americans and trump.

but that's not to say trump will help them in any real way. Many of trump's positions will hurt them a great deal. It will be interesting to see how they react. I suspect they are so happy to have someone in the WH who talks like they do that they won't blame trump for losing healthcare, much more expensive food and WMT prices, inflation, etc.

I don't feel sorry for them at all. My wife's family is full of Trump voters. They are dysfunctional low-income whites from Kentucky who smoke two packs a day, do drugs, skipped school, had children when they were still teens, and mostly exist off of welfare, social security disability, etc. They gleefully attack liberals and elite blue-staters who actually support them by sending tax dollars to their hellhole of a state. Now they can lose their healthcare, their jobs will be further automated out of existence by progress, and they voted for it and supported it. Screw 'em.
