General question for all the coaches here: When writing a cover letter, who do you address it to? AD? HR? Depend on whether its assistant or head job?
If it was a Head Coach gig I would address it to the AD. If it was an assistant job I would address it to the Head Coach
Texas made a hire yet? How about NM?

Also to the sport administrator if it is a head coaching job
Thoughts on contacting AD directly about open positions not posted yet?
It's not necessarily too bold if you have an in or someone with credibility that knows the AD and will vouch for you etc... I would feel it out first to make sure you have good solid information. I know for a fact that the administrator over the sport wouldn't mind receiving communication from you first. To be within professional boundaries I would reach out to the administrator over the sport first.
I am assuming this is a head coaching job.

I suppose it would depend on how you know a job will be open.
Or are you trying to get someone fired?

Dear Search Committee:
Not trying to get anyone fired. Emailed HC when assistant position was open and then HC left soon after. D3 school with no sport specific admins listed, so would be going straight to the AD.

Looks like the post for the Arizona pole vault & high jump positions are a procedural move since those spots are held by long time volunteer coaches.
