Supposedly University of Memphis is looking for a part time cross country coach for one year. The word is the HC proposed dropping the XC program and the AD supported the proposal though the President delayed it for one year. The true definition of a dead end job.

Why would UK hire this guy of all people? Is it the Kenyan connection because this guy has recruited Kenyans wherever he goes? This is NOT a slam dunk hire. He may do fine but not who I would have imagined would be taking over the distance group at KY. And they could be so much better. We shall see.

Any word on Drake? For a program like that, the search is dragging on way too long. At this point, they might as well just hire Blake Boldon... if things are already headed south, might as well go full anchor. Ever since he came in to run Drake Relays it has only gotten worse and worse :(
Very curious on this, as well. Seems odd it has taken this long. And it's getting awfully close to the start of the season. I'm sure they feel like Blake can run the ship until they find the right person, but I can't imagine he wants to focus too much on it with his other responsibilities.
I just found out the same news. I'm guessing they'll inform the athletes just before the 4th of July weekend. Or have they been told already ? Although most probably already knew. Joanna Hayes has destroyed the distance portion at UCLA in record speed. She was there for a few months and only ran two men at the regional meet regardless of having a full men’s team. I have a feeling she will enjoy delivering the news about cutting men’s cross country.
They are 100% not cutting men’s XC. They are bringing in hs recruits and transfers. It’s essentially August and those athletes are still running at UCLA in the fall.
