Doug Fraley has left. Yogi Teevens has left. Lara Rogers has left for a position at Under Armor. Loss of some outstanding coaches.

The University of Idaho Track & Field program is still considering candidates for our assistant track & field coaching position overseeing the throws.

Moscow is a beautiful college town, the University offers a wide range of outstanding academic programs, there are tremendous facilities including a brand new indoor track being laid down at this moment in the Kibbie Dome, already highly talented student-athletes within the throws group, and there is a RICH history in the throws.

Any school offering 28k a year probably has zero interest in negotiating in the first place.

I'm confused at what you're getting at here. You're saying young coaches, most of whom are in Volunteer or GA positions, should pass up full-time opportunities that don't offer enough salary? Are you that disconnected that you don't realize how hard it is to get your foot in the door or how competitive most positions are? Most postings get enough serious candidates that if the program's top choice turns the position down when they won't budge on salary there will be 3-5 other qualified coaches ready to take it. While I agree some of these salaries are ridiculously low, you can't blame struggling young coaches working their butts off 60-80 hours/week for accepting a way out. We're a non-revenue sport with high roster numbers and low funding. Turning down low-paying jobs isn't going to change that as unfortunate as it is.
